ecosio is hiring an experienced E-invoicing & EDI Integration Engineer to deliver customer integrations on its cloud-based B2B integration platform. The role combines technical implementation of EDI and e-invoicing interfaces with end-to-end project ownership, customer onboarding, and stakeholder coordination. The engineer will work with ERP interfaces, formats such as XML, EDIFACT, ANSI X12, VDA, and protocols including AS2, OFTP2, and PEPPOL. Strong English communication is essential, while German, French, Italian, or other languages are advantageous. This is a remote full-time position restricted to a specified set of European countries.

I would explain how I gathered business and technical requirements, assessed the source and target ERP capabilities, defined the document flows and mapping rules, configured the transport protocol, completed partner testing, and monitored the integration after go-live. I would also highlight issue management, documentation, and measurable outcomes such as reduced manual processing or faster onboarding.
I start by validating the business process and transaction scope, then map each source field to the target standard's segments and qualifiers. I document transformations, defaults, code conversions, validation rules, acknowledgements, and exception handling, and test both valid and negative cases with representative data before production release.
I assess each country's mandate, invoice format, clearance or reporting model, authentication requirements, archiving rules, and go-live deadlines. I design reusable integration components where possible, maintain country-specific configuration and compliance documentation, and coordinate closely with customers and local stakeholders when regulations change.
I would first identify whether the failure occurred in connectivity, security, transport, syntax validation, or business validation. I would inspect message identifiers, acknowledgements, certificates, endpoint configuration, payload logs, and error responses, then communicate a clear root cause, remediation plan, and retest steps to the relevant partner.
I prioritize work using delivery deadlines, technical dependencies, business impact, and risk, while maintaining a visible project plan for milestones and blockers. I set expectations early, provide regular status updates, use standardized implementation checklists, and escalate dependencies promptly so that quality and customer communication remain consistent across projects.

- optimising e-invoicing and global supply chains by planning, coordinating and technically implementing e-invoicing and EDI projects on our cloud platform
- communicating worldwide with our partner companies, customers and their suppliers
- acting as the interface between our customers, their ERP System and our SaaS platform
- taking on new customers (after handover from Sales) and independently progressing your integration projects
- appearing as a sparring partner for our customers and solving their technical issues
- performing proactively to ensure each project’s success
- coordinating mappings for e-invoicing and EDI integration with the document engineering team for your integration projects
- encouraging the evaluation and implementation of new tools and processes for the project and managing the process
Qualifications
To connect with ecosio it is important to have…
- several years of work experience in e-invoicing and/or EDI
- experience with the integration of ERP import and export interfaces based on XML, CSV and IDocs
- experience with EDI onboardings, EDI service providers and Value Added Networks (VANs)
- experience with national e-invoicing mandates around the globe
- in-depth knowledge of typical EDI and integration formats like XML, EDIFACT, ANSI X12, and VDA as well as EDI protocols like AS2, OFTP2 or PEPPOL
- excellent communication skills in English; proficiency in additional languages is an advantage (French, German, Italian, Chinese, etc)
- know-how in project management, supply chain management and/or logistics
- strong organisational skills and enjoy working independently
