Sample interview questions
How would you research and prioritize enterprise prospects for outreach?

I would begin by defining the ideal customer profile, including organization type, size, relevant business challenges, and likely buying stakeholders. I would use tools such as Salesforce, LinkedIn, ZoomInfo, and industry sources to identify accounts, map contacts, review triggers, and prioritize prospects based on fit and likely urgency.

Describe how you would handle a prospect who says they are not interested.

I would acknowledge their response respectfully and avoid being overly persistent in that moment. I would ask one concise, relevant question to understand whether timing, priorities, or fit is the issue, document the outcome in the CRM, and set an appropriate follow-up plan if there is a future opportunity.

What makes a lead qualified enough to schedule for an account executive or new-business seller?

A qualified lead should have a credible business need, alignment with our target market, an appropriate stakeholder or path to decision-makers, and sufficient interest to explore a solution. I would also confirm the problem, current process, urgency, and next-step commitment before scheduling a meeting.

How do you stay motivated in a high-volume, metrics-driven sales role?

I break larger goals into daily controllable activities such as research, calls, emails, follow-ups, and quality conversations. I review performance data regularly, seek coaching, test improvements to messaging, and focus on steady execution rather than letting individual rejections affect my momentum.

How would you ensure Salesforce data remains accurate and useful for the sales team?

I would log outreach activity promptly, use consistent fields and notes, record key qualification details, and clearly document agreed next steps. Before handing off an opportunity, I would ensure the account, contacts, conversation context, and meeting details are complete so the sales team can continue the relationship without gaps.
