Sample interview questions
How would you develop an AEO/GEO strategy for a large website such as Stripe.com?

I would begin with an audit of how key products, use cases, entities, and documentation are represented in AI search results. I would prioritize high-intent opportunities based on acquisition potential, improve structured and semantically clear content, validate technical accessibility, and run a staged experimentation roadmap with defined visibility, traffic, and conversion metrics.

How would you measure whether AEO efforts are creating business value rather than only increasing brand mentions?

I would connect answer-engine referral and assisted journeys to downstream activation and revenue metrics wherever attribution permits. I would track qualified visits, conversion rates, user acquisition, engagement, and incremental lift against baselines or controlled tests, while separating informational visibility from commercially meaningful outcomes.

Describe how you would work with engineering to make a site more accessible and useful to AI agents.

I would translate search and agent requirements into prioritized technical tickets, such as improving crawlability, metadata, structured content, page performance, internal linking, and reliable product documentation. I would give engineering a clear business case, expected impact, acceptance criteria, and measurement plan, then validate implementation through testing and monitoring.

What is your approach to prioritizing AEO experiments when the ecosystem and ranking signals are evolving quickly?

I use an impact, confidence, and effort framework, supplemented by user intent and strategic product priorities. I favor fast, instrumented tests that can reduce uncertainty, document learnings in a shared roadmap, and scale only the approaches that demonstrate repeatable performance improvements.

How have you used analytics and SQL to inform search-growth decisions?

I use analytics platforms to identify query, landing-page, funnel, and cohort patterns, then use SQL to join behavioral, product, and conversion data when deeper segmentation is needed. This enables me to identify high-value intent, diagnose funnel drop-off, quantify opportunity, and communicate recommendations with evidence rather than assumptions.
