Sample interview questions
How have you managed multiple real estate transactions that were at different stages of the closing process?

I use a centralized tracker and transaction-specific checklists to monitor milestones, outstanding documents, responsible parties, and target closing dates. I review priorities regularly, escalate material risks early, and send clear status updates so all parties know what is needed to keep a closing on schedule.

What do you review when conducting due diligence for a commercial real estate transaction?

I review the relevant lease and amendment history, title commitment and exceptions, surveys or plats, site-related materials, entity documents, and closing requirements. I identify inconsistencies or missing items, summarize issues for counsel, and coordinate follow-up with title companies, counterparties, and internal stakeholders.

Describe your approach to preparing and coordinating a closing package.

I begin with an approved checklist and confirm the latest form of each document, execution requirements, signatories, and delivery method. I coordinate signatures, verify completeness and consistency, track conditions precedent, and assemble final executed documents and recordings for an organized post-closing file.

How do you ensure accuracy when working with legal descriptions, deeds, and surveys?

I compare the legal description against the deed, title materials, and survey, paying close attention to parcel references, exhibits, and jurisdiction-specific requirements. When something does not align, I flag it promptly for legal review and work with the applicable title or survey professionals to resolve it before closing.

How do you work effectively with legal and business teams in a remote environment?

I maintain reliable documentation, communicate concise updates, and use shared trackers and collaboration tools to make transaction status transparent. I set clear expectations on owners and deadlines, remain responsive to questions, and proactively raise risks rather than waiting for issues to become urgent.
