Sample interview questions
How have you designed a feature that required coordinated frontend and backend API changes?

I begin by clarifying the user workflow and defining the data contract with relevant stakeholders. I document request and response shapes, implement backend validation and tests, then build typed frontend queries or clients against that contract. I use incremental reviews and integration testing to catch mismatches early.

What practices do you use to make React applications accessible?

I use semantic HTML first, ensure all interactive elements work with a keyboard, provide meaningful labels and focus management, and test screen-reader behavior where practical. I also validate color contrast, heading structure, error messaging, and dynamic-content announcements against WCAG requirements.

Describe your approach to building a Go API service that is maintainable and reliable.

I separate transport, business logic, and persistence concerns; define clear interfaces; and return consistent, actionable errors. I add unit and integration tests, structured logging, input validation, and observability around critical paths. I also keep API contracts versioned or backward-compatible when clients depend on them.

How would you investigate a slow GraphQL-powered page?

I would first measure whether the bottleneck is network latency, resolver performance, database queries, or client rendering. I would inspect query shape and payload size, look for N+1 resolver behavior, profile database access, and assess client caching and component rerenders. I would then make targeted improvements and confirm the result with repeatable performance measurements.

How do you communicate technical trade-offs to non-technical stakeholders?

I frame options around user impact, delivery time, operational risk, accessibility, and long-term maintenance rather than implementation details alone. I state a recommendation clearly, explain the consequences of each option in plain language, and document the decision so the team has shared context.
