Sample interview questions
How would you diagnose a decline in P2P order completion rates in a specific EMEA market?

I would segment the decline by payment method, merchant cohort, order size, time period, user type, and cancellation reason. I would then validate whether the issue is driven by merchant response time, pricing and spread changes, payment-rail failures, risk controls, or competitor incentives, and implement a measured intervention with clear before-and-after KPIs.

How do you build a healthy P2P merchant ecosystem?

I combine clear onboarding standards, merchant segmentation, performance-based incentives, and regular engagement with key liquidity providers. The operating model should reward reliable completion, competitive pricing, fast payment confirmation, and low dispute rates while applying controls for poor service and fraud risk.

Describe how you would use data to decide whether to enter a new P2P market.

I would assess addressable demand, local crypto adoption, regulatory feasibility, available payment rails, competitor liquidity, spread opportunities, fraud exposure, and the supply of credible merchants. I would launch with measurable liquidity, completion-rate, and active-user targets, then adjust incentives and product priorities based on early cohort performance.

How would you communicate a regional P2P product gap to Engineering and Product teams?

I would provide a structured problem statement supported by data, merchant and user examples, market impact, and a prioritized recommendation. I would distinguish between urgent risk or conversion issues and longer-term enhancements, define success metrics, and remain engaged through testing and post-launch measurement.

What controls are most important for managing P2P payment and fraud risk?

Key controls include merchant due diligence, transaction monitoring, anomaly detection, payment-method risk scoring, clear dispute workflows, and ongoing review of regional scam patterns. Controls should be calibrated to protect users without unnecessarily reducing legitimate completion rates or liquidity.
