Sample interview questions
I have managed the complete accounting cycle, including document validation, journal entries, reconciliations, fixed assets, monthly closing, statutory financial statements, and coordination with tax advisers and auditors. I ensure that records comply with the Polish Accounting Act and that supporting documentation is complete and audit-ready.
I use a documented filing calendar, reconcile source data to the general ledger, validate tax coding and exceptions, and perform a final review of supporting schedules before submission. I also monitor regulatory updates and update controls or system mappings when requirements change.
I would begin by mapping statutory reporting, tax, and document-control requirements to the current processes and chart of accounts. I would test configurations and integrations with realistic scenarios, document defects clearly for the implementation partner, and complete reconciliations and user acceptance testing before go-live.
I maintain clear reconciliation schedules between local-book treatment and group-reporting requirements, identify recurring adjustments early in the close process, and retain supporting documentation for each adjustment. Close coordination with the group finance team helps ensure consistent reporting and timely resolution of technical questions.
I prioritize controls that protect accuracy while automating repeatable work, communicate risks early, and keep close checklists and deadlines visible to stakeholders. I am comfortable taking ownership of ambiguous issues, proposing practical solutions, and improving processes as the company scales.
