Sample interview questions
I would combine platform-native search, hashtag and campus-community research, competitor and peer analysis, and referrals from current creators. I would assess audience relevance, engagement quality, content consistency, brand safety, cultural fit, and likely ability to influence apparel purchase decisions rather than relying only on follower count.
I would begin with campaign objectives, audience segments, budget, and key product or brand messages. Then I would select a mix of nano and mid-tier Greek-life creators, prepare flexible briefs and deliverable timelines, coordinate seeding and approvals, and define tracking links or codes. After launch, I would monitor content quality and sales signals, then document outcomes and recommendations for the next seasonal activation.
I set non-negotiables clearly, such as required disclosures, key product information, timing, and brand-safety boundaries, while leaving the hook, format, language, and storytelling style to the creator. Reviewing concepts early rather than heavily editing final content helps protect authenticity and avoids unnecessary reshoots.
I would use a combination of reach, video views, watch time, engagement quality, clicks, code usage, attributed orders, conversion rate, cost per acquisition, and earned-content value. I would also compare creator cohorts and content formats over time to identify which partnerships create repeatable business impact.
I would maintain a centralized tracker or influencer platform with creator profiles, rates, contracts, deliverables, product shipments, approval stages, posting dates, payment status, and performance data. Clear communication templates, milestone reminders, and weekly pipeline reviews would help keep every campaign on schedule while preserving a personal relationship with each creator.
About this role.
Fresh Prints’ audience lives on TikTok and Instagram. They follow sorority girls, watch college life content, and buy whatever their favorite campus mini celebs are wearing. Yet somehow, we’ve built the largest collegiate custom apparel company in America without a strong influencer program. Imagine what we can do with one!
We’re looking for an Influencer Marketing Manager who can lead her effort to develop a robust influencer marketing strategy.
You’ll need to be deeply embedded in the collegiate creator ecosystem. You’ll need to identify the right voices, build genuine relationships with them, brief them well, and make sure the content they post moves the needle for Fresh Prints in quantifiable ways.
This role is about:
- Building and managing a roster of influencers who are genuinely embedded in the sorority, fraternity, and collegiate social media space
- Developing and executing influencer campaigns that align with Fresh Prints’ biggest brand moments – recruitment season, homecoming, formals, philanthropy events
- Briefing creators clearly enough that the content lands on-brand without micromanaging them into inauthenticity
- Measuring what’s actually working – not just reach, but real impact on brand awareness and orders
- Building influencer relationships that compound over time, not one-and-done activations
What You’ll Own
Influencer Strategy & Discovery
- Build and maintain a tiered influencer roster across TikTok and Instagram – from nano creators (5k–25k) deeply embedded in Greek life at specific schools to larger collegiate lifestyle creators
- Develop a discovery process for identifying high-fit creators before they’re obvious – using platform-native search, community knowledge, and referrals from existing partners
- Evaluate creators on content quality, engagement quality, cultural fit, and relevance
- Own the influencer pipeline – always prospecting, always building relationships, always developing the next tier of partners
Campaign Planning & Execution
- Build influencer campaign plans around Fresh Prints’ key marketing moments: fall recruitment, spring rush, homecoming, philanthropy, formals, and product launches
- Develop clear, compelling creative briefs that give creators enough direction to stay on-brand without killing their authentic voice
- Manage all logistics: outreach, contracting, product seeding, content review, approval, and posting coordination
Creator Relationships
- Build genuine, long-term relationships with the creators on the Fresh Prints roster
- Negotiate rates, deliverables, and usage rights fairly and clearly, protecting Fresh Prints’ budget without burning relationships
Performance & Analytics
- Track campaign performance across all influencer partnerships
- Build a reporting cadence that keeps the Brand team informed on what’s working and what isn’t
- Run post-mortems after major campaigns and apply the learnings to the next one
- Develop and refine the metrics framework for evaluating influencer ROI over time
Who You Are
- You are genuinely fluent in the the social media ecosystem — you know what content performs, you follow the creators who matter, and you can identify a high-fit Fresh Prints creator faster than most people can write a DM
- You build relationships that feel real. Creators want to work with you because you treat them like collaborators, brief them clearly, and follow through on everything you promise
- You have strong creative judgment – you can tell the difference between content that will move Fresh Prints’ brand forward and content that just fills a deliverable
- You are analytical enough to know what’s actually working, not just what looks impressive in a deck
- You are organized enough to manage a roster of 30+ creators across multiple simultaneous campaigns without anything slipping
- You’re scrappy. You know how to get outsized results from a lean influencer budget because you’ve had to
Requirements
- 2 – 4 years of experience in influencer marketing, creator partnerships, or a closely related field
- Deep familiarity with TikTok and Instagram as both a marketer and a consumer – you use these platforms, you follow creators, you understand the culture
- Experience managing influencer campaigns end-to-end: discovery, outreach, contracting, briefing, content review, and performance reporting
- Experience negotiating with creators on rates, deliverables, and usage rights
- Comfort with influencer management and analytics tools
- Proven ability to manage a roster of multiple creators across simultaneous campaigns
- Experience with or strong understanding of the Greek life / collegiate audience is a significant plus
