About this role.
This is a field-sales and new-business acquisition role focused on expanding Lightspeed’s restaurant customer base in Hamburg. The Expansion Manager owns the sales cycle from prospect list building, outbound calls and walk-ins through product demonstrations, negotiation, and contract close. Success requires consultative selling, frequent in-territory customer contact, strong German communication skills, and disciplined Salesforce CRM use. Sample interview questions
I would segment the territory by restaurant type, neighborhood, size, and likely operational needs, then combine local research, walk-ins, calls, referrals, and event networking. I would prioritize accounts with clear fit signals and track outreach, next steps, and conversion metrics consistently in Salesforce.
I would respect their time, lead with a concise and relevant observation about their operation, and ask a focused question about a current challenge. Rather than immediately presenting features, I would earn a follow-up conversation by connecting their needs to a practical business outcome.
Before the demo, I would confirm the prospect’s workflow, pain points, decision process, and priorities. During the session, I would focus on the few features that address those priorities, use relevant scenarios, and finish with agreed next steps tied to their buying criteria.
I would be transparent and avoid promising unconfirmed functionality. I would clarify the underlying need, explore available alternatives with the appropriate internal teams, document the request accurately, and maintain trust by setting realistic expectations.
I establish a mutual action plan with clear stakeholders, milestones, and dates after each meaningful interaction. I use Salesforce to document commitments, identify stalled opportunities early, provide relevant follow-up value, and keep the next step specific and easy for the customer to complete.
