Sample interview questions
Describe your approach to building pipeline when you are responsible for both prospecting and closing.

I segment target accounts by fit, prioritize the stakeholders most likely to experience the relevant business problem, and use coordinated phone, email, and LinkedIn sequences. I track conversion rates at every stage, test messaging regularly, and protect time for both prospecting and advancing active opportunities.

How do you run an effective discovery call with a prospective B2B client?

I prepare by researching the account, then use open questions to understand the client’s current process, business priorities, stakeholders, constraints, and impact of inaction. I summarize the problem in the client’s language and connect the solution only to validated priorities before agreeing on a clear next step.

Tell us about a time you recovered a stalled opportunity.

I would explain how I identified the specific reason for stalled momentum, such as an unresolved stakeholder concern or unclear business case, then re-engaged with relevant insight and a focused meeting request. The key is to establish mutual next steps, document them in the CRM, and create value at each follow-up rather than simply asking for an update.

How do you maintain accurate forecasts and CRM data while managing a busy sales pipeline?

I update opportunity stages immediately after meaningful interactions, record verified decision criteria and next steps, and review close dates against buyer actions rather than optimism. I schedule recurring pipeline reviews to remove inactive deals, identify risks early, and ensure my forecast is evidence-based.

What motivates you in a quota-carrying, remote sales role?

I am motivated by measurable outcomes, the challenge of solving meaningful customer problems, and improving my process through consistent experimentation. In a remote environment, I use structured priorities, activity blocks, and proactive communication to maintain accountability and contribute reliably to the team.
