Sample interview questions
I would first clarify the commercial model, applicable jurisdictions, and risk appetite. I would then review key provisions such as scope, fees, IP, data protection, compliance obligations, liability, termination, dispute resolution, and regulatory responsibilities, escalating material risks with practical options for mitigation.
I would identify the relevant facts and business activities, map the applicable laws and regulators by jurisdiction, and prioritize issues by likelihood and impact. I would document a clear risk assessment, obtain specialist local advice where needed, and propose owners, deadlines, and controls for remediation.
Key areas include licensing and gambling regulations, AML and sanctions controls, responsible gaming, consumer protection, advertising restrictions, payment compliance, privacy, and contractual controls with operators and suppliers. Requirements differ materially by jurisdiction, so maintaining a current compliance framework is essential.
I triage requests based on legal and commercial impact, deadlines, and dependencies, then agree priorities with stakeholders. I use structured matter tracking, reusable templates where appropriate, and concise risk-based advice so that routine work moves quickly while high-risk issues receive deeper review.
I would tailor policies to real operational processes, use clear and accessible language, assign accountable owners, and support rollout through targeted training. I would also establish periodic reviews, monitor regulatory changes, and use feedback or incident data to update controls.
