Sample interview questions
I would use a structured review covering the asset's legal character, applicable MiCA and financial-services requirements, sanctions and AML considerations, consumer-protection issues, disclosures, and jurisdiction-specific restrictions. I would document the risk assessment, identify required controls, and provide a practical recommendation to the relevant approval committee.
I would first confirm the request's scope, deadline, legal basis, and internal owners of the relevant information. I would coordinate a fact-based response with compliance and operational teams, preserve appropriate records, escalate material risks promptly, and maintain clear, professional communication with the regulator.
I clarify the business objective, identify the non-negotiable legal requirements, and distinguish between acceptable, mitigable, and unacceptable risks. I then present concise options with their consequences so leaders can make informed decisions without losing momentum.
I begin by understanding the commercial model, regulatory perimeter, data flows, liability exposure, and operational dependencies. I prioritize key protections such as compliance obligations, audit rights, confidentiality, indemnities, limitations of liability, termination rights, and dispute resolution while keeping the negotiation focused on the intended business outcome.
I maintain a disciplined monitoring process using primary regulatory sources, specialist updates, external counsel where needed, and internal knowledge sharing. I translate developments into practical policies, product guidance, and prioritized action plans rather than treating regulatory monitoring as a purely academic exercise.
