Sample interview questions
I have experience translating and reviewing patent-related content with close attention to claim structure, terminology consistency, and the distinction between literal technical meaning and readable Polish phrasing. I use reference materials and approved glossaries to maintain accuracy across documents.
I begin by reviewing client instructions, translation memories, termbases, and prior approved content. During translation, I document new terminology decisions and run consistency checks in the CAT environment before final delivery.
I would first examine the surrounding specification, drawings, definitions, and repeated usage in the document. If the ambiguity remains material, I would raise a concise query rather than make an unsupported interpretation that could alter the claim scope.
I verify completeness, numbers, units, tags, formatting, terminology, grammar, punctuation, and consistency with the source and client style guidance. For LQA, I also prioritize errors by severity and provide clear, actionable comments.
I assess volume and technical complexity before accepting work, set realistic delivery milestones, and communicate promptly if clarification is needed. I keep project files organized in the required tools and provide status updates early if any delivery risk arises.
