Sample interview questions
I first identify the patent structure, defined terms, and claim dependencies. I research specialized biology terminology in reliable references, maintain consistent terminology throughout the file, and perform a final comparison against the source to confirm that legal scope and technical meaning are retained.
I assess the patent context, existing Slovenian technical usage, and any client terminology resources. If no established equivalent exists, I use a clear, technically defensible rendering and flag the term or add a terminology note when the workflow allows it.
I run CAT-tool QA checks for tags, numbers, formatting, and consistency, then conduct a linguistic review for terminology, grammar, and readability. I also verify that claim numbering, references, units, and repeated defined terms match the source accurately.
I would confirm scope, reference materials, and delivery milestones at the start, then prioritize terminology preparation and work in manageable batches. I would communicate early about any ambiguity or capacity risk and reserve time for final QA rather than treating review as optional.
I use CAT environments to leverage translation memories, terminology bases, segment-level QA, and bilingual review workflows. I can follow project instructions in tools such as XTM and use platforms such as JIRA to track tasks, clarify issues, and report delivery status.
