I am an experienced interpreter specializing in facilitating communication between Deaf / Hard of Hearing individuals and Hearing people. Over the years, I have developed strong skills in assisting those who are visually impaired as well. My work involves interpreting assignments, submitting invoices for completed work, and ensuring effective communication in various settings. I have also worked as a Para-Educator and Interpreter for Deaf / Hard of Hearing students in general education classrooms, acting as a role model for both Hearing and Deaf / Hard of Hearing students. I am proficient in phone skills, have some computer skills, and possess some marketing skills that complement my interpreting work. I have been self-employed as the owner and interpreter at The Flint Interpreter since May 2002. My educational background includes a Bachelor’s degree from Baker College in the Interpreters Training Program and two Associate degrees from C.S. Mott Community College in Interpreters Training and Deaf Studies. I am passionate about bridging communication gaps and supporting the Deaf and Hard of Hearing community through my interpreting expertise.
