Cover letter sample
I am writing to express my strong interest in the Legal Consultant - Payments Counsel position at Axiom. With over six years of post-qualification experience in payments and fintech, I have a proven track record of drafting and negotiating complex commercial agreements across multiple jurisdictions. Sample interview questions
I have worked extensively with cross-border payments, including compliance with AML, KYC, and sanctions regimes. For example, at my previous firm, I advised a fintech client on entering the EU market, ensuring adherence to PSD2 and local licensing requirements.
I start by understanding the client's business objectives and risk appetite. Then I identify key terms, prioritize them, and engage with counterparties to find mutually acceptable solutions. I also collaborate with internal teams to ensure alignment.
During a product launch for a payment platform, I identified potential liabilities in the terms of service. I worked with the product and compliance teams to revise the language and limit exposure, resulting in a successful launch with mitigated risk.
I subscribe to industry newsletters, attend webinars, and participate in professional networks. I also leverage internal resources and collaborate with regulatory specialists to ensure continuous learning.
I value the flexibility and variety that consulting offers. It allows me to work on diverse projects across different clients, which enhances my expertise and keeps the work challenging. Axiom's reputation for high-caliber work is particularly appealing.
