Legal Consulting Regulatory Compliance Digital Assets Cryptocurrency Stablecoin Payments Licensing Relationship Management Fintech Cross-Jurisdictional

I am writing to express my strong interest in the Legal Consultant - Regulatory - Digital Assets, Payments position at Axiom. With over 7 years of experience in financial regulation, including a focus on cryptocurrency and stablecoin advisory, I am confident in my ability to lead regulatory strategy across jurisdictions.

In my previous role at a top-tier law firm, I developed comprehensive regulatory playbooks for digital asset clients and successfully managed licensing applications with multiple regulators. My deep understanding of payment system regulations and emerging digital asset frameworks will enable me to provide clear, practical guidance to your stakeholders.

I am particularly drawn to Axiom’s flexible and diverse work environment, and I am eager to contribute to your client’s global initiatives. I look forward to the opportunity to discuss how my expertise aligns with your needs.

Sincerely, [Your Name]

Can you describe your experience with stablecoin regulatory frameworks in different jurisdictions?
I have worked on stablecoin projects in the US, EU, and Singapore, focusing on compliance with state money transmission laws, MiCA, and the Payment Services Act. I developed jurisdiction-specific strategies for issuers and exchanges.
How do you approach developing a regulatory playbook for a new digital asset product?
I start by mapping the product's features and identifying relevant regulatory triggers. Then, I research each jurisdiction's requirements, consult with local counsel if needed, and create a step-by-step guide covering licensing, ongoing reporting, and risk mitigation.
Describe a time you managed a relationship with a financial regulator. What was the outcome?
I represented a fintech client during a pre-licensing meeting with the New York Department of Financial Services. I prepared the team to address concerns about consumer protection and anti-money laundering, resulting in a smooth approval process.
What do you see as the biggest regulatory challenge for digital payments in the next year?
The implementation of the EU's MiCA regulation and potential US stablecoin legislation. Companies need to adapt quickly to varying standards around reserves, transparency, and market conduct, requiring agile legal strategies.
How do you stay updated on rapidly changing crypto regulations?
I subscribe to regulatory alerts from agencies, follow industry groups like the Blockchain Association, and attend webinars and conferences. I also maintain a network of peers to discuss emerging trends.
