Copywriting Localization Korean to English Translation Marketing Brand Voice Cultural Adaptation Freelance Remote Creative Writing

Dear Hiring Manager,

I am excited to apply for the Korean into English Copywriter position at Welocalize. With over 5 years of experience in translation and copywriting, I specialize in creating culturally resonant English titles from Korean content. My native English proficiency and deep understanding of Korean allow me to balance authenticity with natural expression. I am adept at collaborating with cross-functional teams and delivering high-quality work under tight deadlines. I look forward to contributing to your global projects.

Sincerely,

[Your Name]

How do you approach creating English titles that maintain cultural authenticity?
I start by fully understanding the original Korean context, including cultural nuances and audience expectations. Then I brainstorm multiple options that capture the core meaning while sounding natural in English, often testing them with native speakers to ensure resonance.
Describe your experience with marketing copy for global audiences.
I have worked on campaigns for tech and entertainment brands, adapting tone and messaging to suit different markets. For example, I localized app store descriptions and ad copy to increase engagement among English-speaking users while retaining brand identity.
How do you handle feedback and revisions?
I view feedback as a collaborative opportunity to refine the output. I review comments carefully, ask clarifying questions if needed, and implement revisions promptly while ensuring the original intent and quality are preserved.
What tools do you use for translation and copywriting?
I use CAT tools like SDL Trados and memoQ for consistency, along with style guides and glossaries. For copywriting, I leverage project management platforms and collaboration tools such as Trello and Google Docs to track progress and receive feedback.
Why are you interested in this role?
I am attracted by Welocalize's global reach and commitment to quality in localization. This role allows me to combine my language skills and marketing expertise on high-visibility projects, and I am eager to contribute to creating content that bridges Korean and English audiences.
