I am excited to apply for the Chief Executive Officer position at one of saas.group's brands. With over [X] years of executive leadership in B2B SaaS, I have a proven track record of driving strategic growth, scaling PLG and sales-led motions, and building high-performance remote teams.

I am drawn to this opportunity because of the brand's strong market position and the chance to lead its next chapter of upmarket expansion and product innovation. My experience includes owning P&L, developing multi-year visions, and successfully bringing new growth initiatives to market.

At my previous role as CEO of [Company], I increased revenue by [X]% and led the company through a major product launch that captured significant market share. I am confident I can bring the same energy and strategic clarity to your brand.

I look forward to the opportunity to discuss how I can contribute to saas.group's portfolio success and help take this brand to the next level.

How would you approach the first 90 days as CEO of this brand?
I would start by immersing myself in the business, conducting one-on-ones with the leadership team and key stakeholders, and understanding the current strategy and challenges. I would then develop a clear strategic point of view and validate it with the board sponsor, while ensuring operational stability and momentum.
Describe a time you led an upmarket transition and what were the key factors for success?
At my previous company, I led a shift from SMB to mid-market by redefining our product positioning, building an enterprise sales team, and investing in customer success. Key success factors included deep customer research, aligning the product roadmap, and creating a scalable onboarding process.
How do you balance short-term revenue goals with long-term innovation?
I allocate resources by setting clear priorities: 70% of efforts on core revenue-generating activities, 20% on adjacent opportunities, and 10% on high-risk innovation. This ensures we meet quarterly targets while investing in future growth engines.
How would you foster a strong culture in a fully remote team?
I would establish clear communication rhythms, regular virtual all-hands, and cross-functional collaboration. I'd also invest in team bonding events, transparent decision-making, and ensuring every team member feels valued and aligned with the company's mission.
What metrics do you consider most important to track for a B2B SaaS CEO?
Key metrics include MRR/ARR growth, net revenue retention, customer acquisition cost (CAC), lifetime value (LTV), and product velocity (e.g., time to ship features). Additionally, employee engagement and NPS are critical for long-term success.

Profile Overview

This is an opportunity to lead one of our growing brands as its next CEO: a high-momentum B2B SaaS business with an enviable position in its category, exceptional brand visibility, and real commercial momentum, now at an inflection point with major new growth bets coming to life. The brand’s previous CEO took the reins from the founders when the company was still small and drove a period of significant growth, leaving the business well positioned, highly visible, and ready for its next chapter. We’re looking for a CEO with the energy, conviction, and strategic clarity to set and own that next vision: to build on a strong base and well established brand, move upmarket, deepen the product, and define what the category leader looks like for the next several years. You’ll own the brand’s P&L, strategy, growth, culture, and overall performance, working closely with the saas.group leadership team, your board sponsor, and the broader community.

Your immediate impact in the first 3-6 months will be:

  • Running a smooth handover with the outgoing CEO and building direct, trusted relationships with the leadership team and the wider team.
  • Developing and landing a clear point of view on the brand’s next strategic chapter, validated with your board sponsor.
  • Lifting product velocity and shipping cadence, turning early momentum into a consistent delivery rhythm and moving adoption of a key new product in the right direction.
  • Bringing a major new growth initiative to market as a credible, durable new growth vector.

Your responsibilities

  • Define and own a bold, multi year vision for the brand, aligning with saas.group objectives while staying sharply aware of a fast moving, competitive market.
  • Lead the upmarket motion: evolve positioning, product, and go to market to win larger customers while protecting the simplicity and ease of use that has always defined the product.
  • Set the bar on product velocity and shipping cadence, ensuring the team consistently delivers capabilities.
  • Scale our newest growth engines from early traction into durable, material revenue streams.
  • Own commercial performance end to end: drive new revenue across PLG, inbound, and sales led motions, and treat retention and revenue as first order priorities.
  • Drive operational excellence: own the P&L, build budgets, track the KPIs that matter, and put in place the processes that let the business scale efficiently.
  • Foster innovation by spotting disruptive trends (including AI, both as a customer segment and as a tool), experimenting with new business models, and making data driven bets.
  • Build, coach, and retain a high performing, fully remote leadership team, champion a strong culture aligned with saas.group values, and represent the brand externally with customers, partners, and the wider PLG SaaS community.

What you bring to the table

  • Proven leadership as a CEO, GM, or senior executive in a B2B PLG SaaS company, with a strong track record of driving growth and building enduring businesses.
  • A demonstrated ability to craft and execute strategy across PLG, sales led, and partnership motions, with the judgment to make decisive market and product calls.
  • Experience scaling a product through an upmarket transition, balancing enterprise grade depth with a simple, lovable user experience.
  • A bias toward shipping: you know how to set a high product velocity and hold a team to a healthy, sustainable pace of delivery.
  • Strong financial acumen: budgeting, forecasting, and full P&L responsibility. Comfort with the dynamics of payments, payouts, and fintech adjacent product lines is a strong plus.
  • Fluency with the SaaS PLG growth toolkit, and ideally the fast moving AI customer segment we serve.
  • A talent magnet and strong people leader: skilled at hiring, developing, and retaining top performers remotely, setting goals, holding teams accountable, addressing performance decisively, and communicating a compelling vision to internal and external audiences.
  • AI literacy and application: you actively use AI tools to sharpen your productivity and quality of work, stay curious about emerging capabilities, and find pragmatic ways to apply AI day to day. Excellent communication, with fluency in English.

What’s in it for you

  • Ultimate flexibility: We’re 100% remote. You can work from wherever you like, whenever you like.
  • Freedom and autonomy: We’re a high trust team, and you’ll have lots of flexibility to solve problems your own way, with plenty of help from the team when you need it.
  • Minimum bureaucracy: We don’t like to get bogged down with meetings and red tape. We like to be efficient and keep momentum steady and sustainable.
  • Small and friendly team: We help each other out, have fun, and joke around.
  • Our network: We’re a community of entrepreneurial SaaS professionals who regularly exchange ideas, knowledge, learning, and expertise with each other internally.
  • Flexible time off: We want you to recharge your batteries when needed.

We don’t just simply offer you to “take a job with us” but rather to “join us on this journey” to build the world’s largest platform of independent SaaS companies.

Sounds like something you’re up for? Feel free to apply even if you don’t check all these boxes. We believe in the power of diversity and fresh perspectives to spice up our team. Your application might just be the missing ingredient!
