Cover letter sample

Dear Hiring Team,

I am excited to apply for the Customer Activation | Partnerships role at Ramp. With over four years of experience in customer success and partnership management within fast-growing tech companies, I have developed a strong ability to drive customer onboarding and activation while building trusted partner relationships. My background includes working closely with accounting and financial software partners, where I consistently exceeded activation targets by implementing streamlined onboarding processes.

I am particularly drawn to Ramp's mission of building smart finance infrastructure and its focus on high agency and urgency. In my previous role, I owned end-to-end partner enablement, delivering training and support that improved partner satisfaction and customer retention by 20%. I thrive in ambiguous, fast-paced environments and enjoy solving complex problems with cross-functional teams.

I am confident that my experience in partner ecosystem operations, combined with my passion for product mastery, would allow me to contribute immediately to Ramp's growth. I look forward to the opportunity to discuss how I can help drive the success of your partner-referred customers.

Sincerely, [Your Name]

Sample interview questions
Can you describe a time when you turned a struggling partner relationship into a successful, long-term partnership?

In my previous role, I had a partner who was not fully utilizing our platform, leading to low customer activation rates. I scheduled a detailed discovery session to understand their business goals and pain points. I then created a tailored enablement plan, including regular training and co-marketing efforts. Within three months, their activation rate improved by 35%, and the partnership became one of our top revenue contributors.

How would you approach onboarding a partner-referred customer who is unfamiliar with Ramp's products?

I would start by understanding the customer's specific business needs and technical environment. Then I would tailor an onboarding plan that highlights the most relevant features, providing clear step-by-step guidance and resources. I would schedule check-ins to address questions and ensure they experience quick wins, which builds confidence and momentum. I would also coordinate with the partner to ensure a seamless transition and reinforce the value they provided by referring Ramp.

Describe your experience working with engineering and product teams to resolve customer issues or improve processes.

At my last job, I identified a recurring issue where customers were struggling with a specific integration. I compiled detailed feedback and usage data, then presented it to the product team. We collaborated on a workaround while the engineering team developed a permanent fix. I also documented the temporary solution and communicated it to partners. This increased customer satisfaction and reduced support tickets by 25%.

What strategies would you use to manage multiple partner accounts and ensure each partner feels valued?

I prioritize by using a tiered approach based on partner size and potential. I maintain a structured cadence of check-ins, using a CRM to track interactions and milestones. I also personalize my communication for each partner, understanding their unique business models and goals. To scale efforts, I create self-service resources and webinars for lower-touch partners while dedicating more time to high-potential ones.

Why do you think Ramp is positioned to be a leader in the finance automation space, and how would you communicate that to partners?

Ramp's unique value lies in its ability to automate the entire spend lifecycle, providing savings and growth insights that directly impact a company's bottom line. With over $200B in annualized spend flowing through the platform, it has proven traction and data that sets it apart. I would communicate this by sharing concrete metrics and case studies, emphasizing how partners can enhance their own service offerings by introducing Ramp to their clients, ultimately strengthening their advisor role.
