Cover letter sample

Dear Hiring Team,

I am excited to apply for the Marketing Manager - Europe role at ChargePoint. My background in hands-on B2B field marketing, integrated campaign execution, and close sales partnership aligns well with the opportunity to build regional pipeline across European markets.

I would bring a practical, data-driven approach to producing events, webinars, email nurture programs, and localized content while coordinating effectively with international stakeholders. I am particularly motivated by the chance to help accelerate EV adoption and establish a scalable European marketing engine.

Thank you for your consideration; I would welcome the opportunity to discuss how I can contribute to ChargePoint's growth.

Sample interview questions
How would you build a field marketing program that creates measurable pipeline with the European sales team?

I start by aligning with sales on target accounts, pipeline stages, and the specific commercial objective. I then build an integrated program around the audience, such as an account-focused event, localized email sequence, partner activation, and sales follow-up plan. I track registrations, engagement, meetings created, opportunities influenced, and pipeline contribution, then use results to refine future activity.

How do you localize global campaigns for multiple European markets while maintaining brand consistency?

I use a repeatable localization workflow that preserves global positioning while adapting language, proof points, regulations, and market context for each audience. AI tools can accelerate translation, content variations, and initial research, but I would use local reviewers and performance data to protect quality and relevance. This approach enables speed without treating European markets as interchangeable.

Walk us through how you would execute a regional webinar from planning through follow-up.

For a regional webinar, I would define the audience and conversion goal first, develop a compelling topic with sales and subject-matter experts, coordinate speakers, and create a multi-channel promotion plan. After the event, I would segment attendees by engagement, deliver relevant follow-up content, and equip sales with clear next actions. I would measure attendance quality, meetings, opportunity influence, and pipeline rather than relying only on registration volume.

How would you prioritize simultaneous events, campaigns, and stakeholder requests as the sole regional marketer?

I prioritize work based on expected pipeline impact, strategic account alignment, timing, cost, and execution capacity. I maintain a transparent regional marketing calendar and regular planning cadence with sales and global teams so trade-offs are explicit. For lower-value requests, I look for scalable templates, partner support, or automation rather than allowing ad hoc activity to displace priority programs.

What metrics would you use to demonstrate the value of European marketing investment to leadership?

I would report both leading and business-impact metrics. Leading indicators include target-account engagement, registrations, attendance, content engagement, and meetings; impact metrics include opportunities created or influenced, pipeline value, conversion rates, cost per opportunity, and event ROI. I would present results by market and program type, explain assumptions clearly, and recommend where to increase, change, or stop investment.

Senior Director – International Marketing & Strategy

What You Will Be Doing

ChargePoint is building its marketing engine in Europe from the ground up. As the dedicated marketing hire in the region, you will work closely with the European sales team to generate pipeline, execute events, and lay the foundation for a high-impact marketing function in a fast-growing market.

This is a hands-on execution role where you will own delivery end-to-end. Rather than creating strategy for others to execute, you will be directly responsible for bringing campaigns to life—whether that’s booking venues, running webinars, building email sequences, or measuring results. Reporting to the Sr. Director of International Marketing, you will serve as the primary marketing operator in Europe with the opportunity to shape ChargePoint’s presence across the region and build a team over time.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Planning and executing field marketing programs across Europe, including trade shows, customer events, roundtables, partner events, and roadshows
  • Running regional webinars and digital events end-to-end (topic development, speaker coordination, promotion, and follow-up)
  • Partnering directly with the European sales team to support account-level marketing efforts that help open opportunities and accelerate deals
  • Localizing and adapting global campaigns, content, and messaging for European markets using AI tools to scale across languages efficiently
  • Building and managing regional email campaigns, landing pages, and nurture programs in collaboration with demand generation teams
  • Managing relationships with local event organizers, media contacts, and agency partners
  • Owning the European marketing calendar and aligning with global teams on launches, announcements, and campaigns
  • Tracking and reporting on campaign performance, event ROI, and pipeline contribution to demonstrate impact and drive further investment

What You Will Bring to ChargePoint

  • Proven B2B field marketing experience within European markets, including hands-on ownership of events, vendors, and campaigns, preferably within the EV Industry
  • Fluency in English plus at least one additional major European language (e.g., German, French, or similar)
  • Comfort operating as a team of one in a startup-like environment, with strong resourcefulness and self-direction
  • A collaborative, results-driven approach to working with sales teams, with a clear understanding of how marketing contributes to revenue goals
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple campaigns, events, and stakeholders across regions
  • Willingness to travel regularly across Europe to support field marketing activities
  • A builder mindset with enthusiasm for creating processes, programs, and ultimately a team from the ground up

Requirements

  • Hands-on experience executing marketing programs across multiple European markets
  • Demonstrated ability to partner closely with sales to drive pipeline and measurable business outcomes
  • Proficiency in using AI tools to accelerate marketing execution (e.g., content creation, translation, campaign analysis, event planning)
  • Experience managing end-to-end campaign execution including events, webinars, email, and digital programs
  • Strong communication skills and ability to coordinate across international stakeholders and time zones
  • Ability to operate independently in a fast-paced, high-growth environment without an established regional marketing infrastructure
