Dear Hiring Team,

My strong interest in designer apparel and footwear, paired with careful attention to product details, would allow me to evaluate listings consistently and help protect the trust of the Grailed community. I would welcome the opportunity to support accurate authentication, quality improvement, and collaborative team learning.

Sincerely,

Sample interview questions
How would you authenticate a designer apparel listing using only its photos and listing details?

I would first verify that the photos clearly show the key indicators for the brand and product type, such as labels, stitching, hardware, tags, materials, logos, sizing, and construction. I would compare these details against reliable brand references and known release information, then confirm that the stated condition, accessories, colorway, and category match the evidence. If information were insufficient or inconsistent, I would escalate or reject the listing according to policy rather than make an unsupported decision.

Describe how you would handle a listing that appears authentic but contains manipulated photos or inaccurate condition details.

I would treat the accuracy issue as material because buyers need trustworthy information even when the product itself may be authentic. I would document the specific discrepancies, apply the relevant moderation standard, and request correction or remove the listing as policy requires. I would also note recurring patterns so the team can improve guidance or checkpoints.

How do you stay current with counterfeit techniques and designer-fashion trends?

I use official brand releases, trusted authentication references, resale-market research, and structured comparison of known authentic and counterfeit examples. I would participate actively in team training and review defect reports to understand new failure patterns. I also keep organized notes on brand-specific identifiers and changes in construction, labels, and packaging.

This role is measured on both speed and accuracy. How would you manage a high-volume queue without lowering quality?

I would follow a repeatable review workflow that prioritizes the highest-risk authentication signals first while ensuring every required field is checked. I would use established guides and hard checkpoints to prevent skipped steps, and flag uncertain cases promptly instead of spending disproportionate time without progress. I would monitor my own defect patterns and adjust my process when quality data identifies an opportunity to improve.

Tell us about how you would contribute to team knowledge sharing after identifying a new authentication pattern.

I would document the pattern clearly with the relevant product characteristics, visual examples where permitted, and the decision rationale. I would share it with the appropriate team lead and suggest an update to the guide or checkpoint if it could prevent repeat errors. If useful, I would also help present the finding in a training or mentorship session so the team can apply it consistently.
