Sample interview questions
I would start by reviewing account health, product adoption, business objectives, stakeholder mapping, renewal timing, support history, and expansion signals. I would then define mutually agreed success outcomes, risks, growth opportunities, owners, milestones, and measurable KPIs, reviewing progress regularly with both the customer and internal partners.
I would first understand the underlying reasons, such as adoption gaps, budget pressure, missing capabilities, or unresolved service concerns. I would quantify the value already delivered, align on a recovery plan for gaps, involve the appropriate internal teams, and present renewal options that preserve the relationship while matching the customer’s current priorities.
I tailor the QBR to the executive audience by focusing on business outcomes rather than product activity. I present progress against agreed goals, relevant performance insights, risks, upcoming priorities, and strategic recommendations, while reserving time to validate the customer’s changing objectives and secure alignment on next steps.
I would track renewal rate, gross and net revenue retention, expansion pipeline, product adoption, customer health scores, engagement with key stakeholders, support trends, and forecast accuracy. The most useful metrics should be paired with qualitative account context so that risks and opportunities can be acted on early.
I would clarify the customer impact, desired outcome, urgency, and decision-makers, then establish a shared action plan with clear ownership and dates. I would keep the customer informed through consistent communication, advocate for their needs internally, and close the loop by confirming resolution and documenting lessons that can prevent similar issues.
