Sample interview questions
How do you prioritize inbound leads while maintaining an effective outbound prospecting cadence?

I use defined qualification criteria such as fit, urgency, potential value, and buying-process clarity to prioritize inbound leads. I block recurring time for targeted outbound activity, track both motions in the CRM, and review conversion data regularly to adjust effort toward the highest-yield segments.

Describe how you would run a discovery call with a prospective EV-charging customer.

I would begin by understanding the customer's site type, vehicle use cases, charging goals, decision makers, timeline, budget process, and operational constraints. I would then confirm the business impact of those needs and connect the relevant ChargePoint solution capabilities to measurable outcomes before agreeing on next steps.

How do you handle a prospect who says that EV charging is too expensive or not yet a priority?

I would acknowledge the concern, explore the assumptions behind it, and clarify the cost of waiting, including fleet readiness, customer expectations, or infrastructure planning. I would tailor the discussion to the prospect's goals and, where appropriate, involve the right internal or partner resources to build a credible business case.

What practices ensure that your Salesforce pipeline and forecast are accurate?

I update opportunities immediately after meaningful interactions, document next steps and close assumptions, and use consistent qualification stages. I also regularly inspect stale records, validate close dates against customer commitments, and distinguish confirmed opportunities from early-stage interest in my forecast.

Tell us about a time you worked with partners or another sales team to advance an opportunity.

In a partner-assisted opportunity, I would align early on account ownership, customer messaging, responsibilities, and a shared action plan. Regular communication and clear CRM notes help prevent duplication, while joint customer meetings ensure the buyer receives a coordinated and valuable experience.
