About this role.
Fresh Prints is seeking a hands-on SEO and GEO Content Specialist to own blog content, revenue-driving site copy, and backlink development for its collegiate apparel business. The role combines search-intent-led writing, on-page optimization, internal linking, technical launch coordination, and outreach for authoritative placements. The specialist will also develop a strategy to improve visibility in AI answer engines such as ChatGPT, Perplexity, Google AI Overviews, and Bing Copilot. Success depends on using SEO data and content-performance reporting to prioritize a seasonal editorial roadmap for a college-age audience.

Sample interview questions
I would begin with keyword research, Search Console data, competitor gap analysis, and customer questions to identify high-intent topics. I would cluster topics by seasonal events such as recruitment, homecoming, formals, philanthropy, and graduation, then prioritize by opportunity, business relevance, and production effort. Each brief would define the search intent, target audience, internal-linking plan, conversion path, and measurement criteria.
I start with the reader's task and build a clear structure that answers it quickly and credibly. I then apply SEO fundamentals naturally: a focused title and meta description, descriptive headers, relevant entities and supporting examples, useful internal links, and scannable formatting. I validate the result against the ranking landscape, but avoid adding keywords or sections that do not improve the reader experience.
I would identify recurring questions where Fresh Prints has credible expertise, review current AI responses and cited sources, and create source-worthy pages that answer those questions directly. The content would use clear factual statements, structured headings, original examples or data where possible, transparent authorship, and strong internal topical connections. I would monitor citations, brand mentions, referral patterns, and changes in answer-engine results to refine priorities.
I would build a prospect list around Greek life media, campus publications, college-life blogs, higher-education marketplaces, and adjacent lifestyle outlets. Rather than relying on generic outreach, I would pitch useful guest articles, timely resource guides, original data stories, and expert commentary tailored to each publication's audience. I would track outreach, placements, referring domains, link quality, and the downstream effect on rankings and organic traffic.
In a strong example, I would use Search Console and ranking data to find pages already appearing on page two or receiving impressions for valuable queries. I would compare those pages with search intent and competing results, improve the content depth and structure, add internal links, and monitor changes in clicks, rankings, and conversions. This approach focuses effort on opportunities with evidence of existing demand rather than producing content solely from intuition.
SEO & GEO CONTENT SPECIALIST
If you search ‘custom sorority shirts’ or ‘Greek life apparel,’ Fresh Prints doesn’t own that real estate the way we should. We’re the largest collegiate custom apparel company in America, and we are consistently losing organic traffic to competitors who are less credible but have been more intentional about content.
We’d like to fix that, but with an approach that builds our brand and creates real value for our customers. No keyword stuffing. No regurgitated AI slop.
So we are first and foremost looking for a writer, who also happens to have a deep understanding of what it takes to rank on search and within LLMs. If that sounds like you, please apply!
You’ll own our blog, our site content, and our backlink strategy. You’ll write posts that college students actually want to read, copy for the pages that drive revenue, and build the link profile that signals to Google that Fresh Prints is the authoritative source on collegiate apparel.
What You’ll Own
Blog & Content Creation
- Plan, write, and publish a consistent cadence of blog posts targeting high-value keywords in the Greek life, collegiate, and custom apparel space
- Develop content that serves real search intent – genuinely useful guides, listicles, comparison pieces, and how-to content that earns clicks and time on page
- Maintain a content calendar that maps to Fresh Prints’ seasonal moments: fall recruitment, spring rush, homecoming, formals, philanthropy events, graduation
- Write for a college-age audience in a voice that feels like Fresh Prints – smart, warm, a little irreverent – not corporate or generic
On-Page SEO & Site Content
- Write and optimize meta titles, meta descriptions, headers, and body copy for pages across the site
- Identify internal linking opportunities that improve crawlability and distribute page authority across the site
- Work with the Tech team to ensure new content launches are set up correctly from an SEO standpoint
Backlink Building
- Develop and execute a backlink strategy focused on the sites, publications, and communities that are most relevant to Fresh Prints’ audience: Greek life media, college newspapers, campus life blogs, lifestyle publications, and higher-ed marketplaces
- Write and pitch guest posts, data-driven stories, and resource articles that earn placements organically
- Build relationships with bloggers, journalists, and site owners in adjacent spaces who cover collegiate life, campus fashion, and custom merchandise
- Track the link profile using SEO tools and report on domain authority growth and referring domain acquisition over time
GEO
- Develop Fresh Prints’ strategy for appearing in AI-generated search answers on platforms like ChatGPT, Perplexity, Google AI Overviews, and Bing Copilot
- Identify the question formats and informational queries where Fresh Prints should be the cited source and create content specifically designed to earn those citations
- Monitor how Fresh Prints is (and isn’t) being referenced in AI answer engines and iterate based on findings
- Stay current on how generative search is evolving and bring back relevant insights
Performance & Reporting
- Track organic traffic, keyword rankings, backlink acquisition, and content engagement – and use that data to shape the content roadmap
- Run regular content audits to identify pages with ranking potential that haven’t been optimized, and deprioritize or consolidate thin content
- Develop and refine the framework for measuring content ROI
Who You Are
- You love writing. You can produce content that’s engaging, accurate, and optimized, without one quality coming at the expense of another
- You understand search intent at a deep level. You know why someone is Googling ‘how to plan a sorority recruitment event’ and you know exactly what piece of content will satisfy that intent and rank for it
- You are just as comfortable in Ahrefs or SEMrush as you are in a Google Doc. Data tells you what to write. Your instincts tell you how to write it.
- You’ve been paying attention to how AI search is changing the game. You have opinions about GEO that go beyond ‘use structured data’
- You are self-directed. You can own a content calendar, set your own priorities, and execute without being micromanaged
- You’re curious about Fresh Prints’ audience. You’ll read what college students are searching for, what Greek life TikTok is talking about, and what questions chapter presidents are Googling at 11pm the week before recruitment
Requirements

- Demonstrated understanding of on-page SEO best practices: keyword research, search intent mapping, header structure, internal linking, meta optimization
- Familiarity with GEO / AI search optimization is a strong plus
- Ability to write in multiple formats: long-form guides, short blog posts, product descriptions, landing page copy
- Comfort working as an IC in a fast-moving, scrappy environment
