Sample interview questions
I would begin with primary sources from the relevant regulator, identify the scope, affected persons or jurisdictions, prohibited activities, deadlines, and reporting obligations. I would then compare the findings with internal policies and summarize practical implications, assumptions, and any items requiring legal or compliance escalation.
Sanctions controls help prevent prohibited persons, entities, and jurisdictions from accessing services or moving value through the platform. They reduce legal, regulatory, operational, and reputational risk while supporting a safer and more trusted financial ecosystem.
I use a structured source log, verify data against original records, apply consistent definitions, and reconcile totals or key facts before drafting. I also proofread for clarity and ask a reviewer to validate any high-risk conclusion or ambiguous information.
I would preserve both sources, check their authority, jurisdiction, publication date, and whether one supersedes the other. I would avoid making an unsupported conclusion, document the conflict clearly, and escalate it to the appropriate compliance or legal stakeholder.
I set clear deliverables and deadlines, provide concise written updates, maintain organized documentation, and flag blockers early. I also plan asynchronous work carefully so colleagues can review progress and make decisions without unnecessary delays.
