Sample interview questions
How have you managed and optimized product feeds for advertising platforms?

I begin by validating source-data quality, required attributes, taxonomy, identifiers, pricing, and availability. I then configure platform-specific feed rules, monitor diagnostics and disapprovals, and prioritize fixes based on revenue impact, coverage, and campaign goals. I document recurring issues and automate repeatable validation where possible.

Describe how you turn a client's business objective into a media strategy.

I clarify the objective, target audience, conversion definition, budget, timeline, and success metrics before selecting the appropriate channels and campaign structure. I establish a measurement plan and testing priorities, then use regular performance analysis to recommend budget, bidding, feed, and creative adjustments tied directly to the agreed KPI.

What would you do if a high-volume product feed suddenly showed a large increase in disapproved items?

I would quantify the affected products and revenue impact, review platform diagnostics, and compare the latest feed and source-data changes against the prior successful version. I would isolate the root cause, such as missing identifiers, price mismatches, or policy issues, implement and validate the correction, and communicate both the impact and resolution timeline to stakeholders.

Give an example of an AI-assisted or automated workflow you would build for this role.

I would create a workflow that combines feed-diagnostic exports, campaign metrics, and predefined KPI thresholds to draft a prioritized weekly optimization report. The workflow could flag anomalies, summarize performance changes, and suggest next actions, but I would verify the underlying data, recommendations, and client-facing language before distribution.

How do you communicate performance results when a campaign is not meeting expectations?

I communicate early and transparently, separating facts from hypotheses. I explain the KPI gap, relevant data trends, likely contributors, completed checks, and a prioritized recovery plan with expected timing. I align the client and internal teams on decisions, testing requirements, and the next reporting checkpoint.
