About this role.

This is a client-facing agency role requiring strong editorial judgment, comfort with generative AI tools, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Sample interview questions
I would begin with discovery: business objectives, target audiences, channel strategy, brand guidelines, regulatory constraints, existing content, and performance data. I would translate those inputs into documented workflow stages, prompt templates, source and citation rules, editorial guardrails, and evaluation criteria. After piloting the process on a small set of deliverables, I would collect feedback, measure quality and efficiency, and refine the system before broader adoption.
I treat AI output as a draft rather than a final deliverable. I validate factual claims against credible primary or authoritative sources, check for unsupported assertions and generic language, review originality and relevance, and edit for the client’s defined tone, terminology, structure, and messaging. I also maintain clear quality-control checklists and document recurring failure modes so prompts and guardrails improve over time.
I would evaluate the metrics most relevant to the content’s purpose, such as organic visibility, rankings, click-through rate, engagement, conversions, assisted conversions, and audience retention. I would pair quantitative findings with search-intent, competitor, and audience analysis to identify practical changes to topic selection, structure, calls to action, distribution, or messaging. I would then test the changes and use results to inform the next content cycle.
I would establish a transparent prioritization system based on client commitments, strategic impact, effort, dependencies, and review timelines. I would use reusable briefs, templates, and QA checklists to reduce repetitive work while reserving time for high-risk research, fact-checking, and final editing. If priorities conflict, I would communicate tradeoffs early and align stakeholders on scope, sequencing, or resourcing.
Human judgment is essential for strategic direction, interpreting nuanced brand context, validating facts, handling sensitive or regulated topics, making ethical decisions, and deciding whether content is genuinely useful to its intended audience. Editors should also own final voice, originality, and quality decisions. AI can accelerate research synthesis and drafting, but accountability for the final work should remain with qualified people.
