Sample interview questions
I start by defining the ideal partner profile based on market coverage, customer access, technical capability, and strategic fit. I prioritize prospects against those criteria, establish a clear value proposition and mutual business plan, then measure activation through training completion, pipeline creation, and revenue contribution.
I would track recruited versus activated partners, certification or training completion, pipeline volume and quality, win rate, revenue attainment, deal registration activity, sales-cycle length, and partner-sourced versus partner-influenced revenue. I would review these metrics regularly with partners and use them to target enablement or corrective actions.
I would create a structured onboarding plan covering product capabilities, target use cases, buyer personas, competitive positioning, qualification, pricing guidance, and escalation paths. I would reinforce training with sales playbooks, marketing assets, joint account planning, and early deal support from internal technical and sales resources.
I establish transparent rules of engagement, including account ownership, deal registration, communication expectations, and escalation processes. When conflicts occur, I focus on facts, customer outcomes, and the jointly agreed policy, then align all parties on a solution that protects the relationship and revenue opportunity.
I would combine partner feedback with market, competitive, and pipeline data to identify underserved geographies, verticals, and customer segments. I would then validate the opportunity with targeted partner recruitment or joint campaigns, set measurable hypotheses, and scale the approaches that produce qualified pipeline and revenue.
