Sample interview questions
I begin by translating the client’s goals into measurable outcomes, a prioritized roadmap, clear ownership, and decision criteria. I maintain alignment through regular status reporting, milestone reviews, risk discussions, and structured change control so that trade-offs are visible and agreed upon early.
I would assess the requested change with the delivery leads to understand effort, technical dependencies, timing, budget impact, and effect on expected outcomes. I would present clear options to the client—such as reprioritizing work, extending the timeline, or creating a follow-on phase—and document the approved decision in the delivery plan.
I establish a risk register early, review leading indicators such as unresolved dependencies, velocity changes, budget burn, and decision delays, and assign owners and mitigation actions. I escalate risks with a concise statement of impact, recommendation, and required decision rather than waiting for an issue to become critical.
I build trust by being transparent, prepared, and consistent. That means communicating progress and risks clearly, bringing data-backed recommendations, following through on commitments, and framing delivery discussions around the client’s business outcomes rather than only project tasks.
I would identify recurring sources of friction through retrospectives, delivery metrics, and team feedback, then standardize only the practices that improve clarity and predictability. Examples include common discovery artifacts, milestone definitions, risk reporting, dependency tracking, and quality gates while preserving flexibility for each project’s needs.
