Data Analysis SQL BI Tools Storytelling Data Visualization LLMs Strategy Consulting Market Insights Automation PR

I am excited to apply for the Senior Market Insights role at PriceLabs. With over 5 years of experience in strategy consulting and a passion for turning data into compelling narratives, I am well-equipped to drive your external storytelling efforts. I have a strong track record of using SQL and BI tools to uncover insights, and I have integrated LLMs into my workflow to accelerate analysis and drafting. I thrive on ownership and enjoy structuring ambiguous problems to deliver clear, decision-ready stories. I look forward to the opportunity to contribute to PriceLabs' market presence.

Describe a time when you turned a complex dataset into a compelling story for an executive audience. What was your approach?
In my previous consulting role, I analyzed customer churn data and identified key drivers. I structured the narrative around 'why customers leave' and 'what we can do about it,' using clear visuals and a headline-driven slide deck. The VP of Product used it to prioritize retention initiatives.
How have you used LLMs or AI tools to enhance your analytical or storytelling workflow?
I use LLMs to generate first drafts of narratives, explore data by asking natural language questions, and refine visual descriptions. For example, I used ChatGPT to draft a market trends report, then edited for tone and accuracy, reducing drafting time by 40%.
This role requires balancing speed and quality. How do you ensure high-quality outputs when working under tight deadlines?
I prioritize by focusing on the key message and using templates and reusable assets. I also leverage LLMs for quick drafts and iterate with stakeholders early to avoid rework. My bar for quality is set by the audience's needs, not perfection.
Tell me about a time you had to decide what data was important and what to leave out. How did you make that call?
While analyzing market trends for a client, I had dozens of metrics. I focused on those that directly impacted the client's strategic goals and had clear cause-effect relationships. I presented a few key insights with supporting data, discarding noise to keep the story sharp.
How do you approach creating visualizations that are both accurate and compelling for external audiences?
I choose the chart type that best conveys the message, like line charts for trends or bar charts for comparisons. I keep it simple, use consistent colors, and ensure labels are clear. I often test with non-technical colleagues to ensure the visual tells the intended story.
This role is open to individuals residing in India with a valid work permit.
About the Role:
The role in one sentence
You will turn PriceLabs’ market and pricing data into clear, decision-ready stories used in PR, thought leadership, and executive-level communication.
Why this role exists
PriceLabs has access to some of the most granular pricing and booking data in the short-term rental industry.
What we don’t have enough of yet is speed and consistency in turning that data into high-quality external stories. Today, too much of this work is bottlenecked by senior leadership.
Speed matters. We expect this person to use LLMs and lightweight automation as a core part of how they work — to explore data faster, draft narratives, and cut down the cycle from question to publishable story.
You will own the data → insight → narrative pipeline, applying consulting-grade rigor and strong data visualization to help PriceLabs show up as a credible source of market insight.
Who this role is for
This role is a strong fit for ex-consultants (strategy, analytics, internal consulting) who:
  • enjoy structuring ambiguous questions
  • are comfortable deciding what matters (and what doesn’t)
  • care deeply about how insights are presented
  • want ownership rather than slide-factory work
If you’ve ever thought, “This analysis is right, but the story and visuals could be much clearer,” you’ll feel at home here.
About the Role:
Insight discovery (≈40%)
  • Translate open-ended questions into analytical approaches
  • Pull and explore internal datasets and BI tools
  • Select the right metrics, comparisons, and cuts
  • Identify trends and patterns worth sharing externally
  • Use LLMs to accelerate data exploration, hypothesis generation, and first-pass synthesis
Storytelling & narrative framing (≈30%)
  • Distil analyses into clear story angles and headlines
  • Structure narratives that answer: why this matters, who should care, and what it implies
  • Ensure every story has a point of view
  • Use LLMs as a thinking and drafting partner — while keeping the point of view, judgment, and editorial bar your own
Visualization & presentation quality (≈20%)
  • Create clean, external-ready charts and visuals
  • Choose the right visualization for the message
  • Maintain a clear bar between internal analysis and PR-ready assets
  • Use AI tooling where it helps (chart drafts, formatting, copy polish) without compromising the visual standard
Enablement & collaboration (≈10%)
  • Partner closely with PR, content, and marketing
  • Build reusable datasets, templates, and standards
  • Reduce rework and approval loops
  • Build lightweight automations and reusable AI workflows so the team scales without adding headcount
What success looks like
  • PR stories move faster and require less rewriting
  • Data-driven stories are published more frequently
  • Market data presentations feel consistently sharp
  • Leadership moves from fixing to approving
  • PriceLabs becomes a go-to source for market insight
How we work
We treat AI as leverage, not as a replacement for thinking. You’ll use LLMs throughout your workflow and share what’s working with the rest of the team. Your judgment, taste, and accountability for the final output stay with you.
About You:
Required
  • 3–7 years in strategy consulting, analytics consulting, or internal consulting
  • Strong analytical skills (SQL, BI tools, spreadsheets)
  • Proven experience creating executive-ready slides
  • Comfort taking a point of view
  • Clear, structured communicator
  • Fluent (or eager to become fluent) with LLMs as part of daily workflow — exploration, drafting, synthesis, iteration. You don’t need to be an AI engineer, but you should already be reaching for these tools instinctively.
Nice to have
  • SaaS, marketplace, travel, or hospitality exposure
  • Experience supporting PR or external communications
  • Experience working with messy, real-world data
  • Experience building lightweight automations (Python scripts, no-code tools, prompt chains) to remove repetitive work
