Cover letter sample
I am excited to apply for the Sales Excellence Manager, Global Sales Vendors position at Stripe. With over a decade of experience in sales strategy and vendor management, I have a proven track record of designing scalable sales motions and driving performance improvements in distributed sales teams.
My background includes leading AI and automation initiatives to enhance seller productivity, which aligns directly with your goal of incorporating agentic AI into vendor sales motions. I have successfully partnered with cross-functional teams to implement performance frameworks and executive reporting rhythms that provide clear visibility into program health.
I am particularly drawn to Stripe's mission of increasing the GDP of the internet and believe my skills in change management and cross-site coaching can help your vendor salesforce deliver exceptional customer experiences. I look forward to the opportunity to contribute to your team's success.
Sample interview questions
In my previous role, I led a project to revamp the outbound sales process for a 200-person vendor team. I started by analyzing current workflows and identifying bottlenecks, then incorporated AI-powered lead scoring and automated follow-ups. The result was a 25% increase in conversion rates and a 15% reduction in cycle time.
I would begin by mapping the existing sales process and identifying high-volume, repetitive tasks that can be automated. Then, I would prototype AI agents for tasks like lead qualification and personalized outreach, closely monitoring compliance with our messaging guidelines. I'd use pilot programs to gather feedback and iterate before scaling.
I've developed dashboards that track key metrics like pipeline generation, conversion rates, and customer satisfaction. I establish clear KPIs and conduct regular reviews with vendor leaders to address variances. I also create playbooks and training to standardize best practices across regions.
I focus on clear communication of the 'why' and early involvement of key stakeholders. I identify change champions within the vendor teams and provide thorough training and support. I also set up feedback loops to address concerns and demonstrate quick wins to build momentum.
I once presented a quarterly review to senior leadership where I distilled data from multiple sources into a story highlighting top-performing motions and areas for improvement. I used visual dashboards and a clear 'what, so what, now what' structure, which led to a strategic investment in a high-potential region.

The Global Sales Vendors team partners with third-party external sales organizations to drive Stripe’s revenue growth and expand access to Stripe’s financial infrastructure. We design and scale the sales motions, processes, and performance frameworks that enable our vendor salesforce to deliver consistent results and exceptional customer experiences.

You’ll be the architect of a next-generation external salesforce, enabling vendor teams to deliver consistent results and outstanding customer experiences through modern, AI-powered processes.
You’ll operate at both a strategic and operational level, designing scalable sales motions, building the performance frameworks that give senior leadership clear visibility into program health, and partnering closely with Vendor Operations Managers and internal stakeholders to scale proven approaches across regions and vendor sites.
Responsibilities

- Design, document, and optimize scalable sales motions for third-party vendor teams, ensuring alignment with company go-to-market strategy, standards, and customer experience principles
- Own program- and regional-level performance management, establishing a consistent rhythm of business, including pipeline reviews, forecast cadence, and executive reporting frameworks
- Partner with Vendor Operations Managers and senior sales leadership to surface cross-site trends, coach vendor leaders, and translate performance data into clear, executive-ready narratives and recommendations
- Serve as the bridge between internal sales leaders and vendor operations, delivering regular readouts, escalating regional and program risks early, and aligning goals and priorities across the organizationD
- rive adoption and change management for new sales motions and performance processes, piloting new approaches and scaling proven solutions across programs and regions
- Partner with Sales Enablement to define future vendor team requirements, share systemic best practices, and sustain high-performance behaviors across all vendor sites
