BetterHelp is seeking independently licensed mental health professionals, including Clinical Psychologists/PsyDs, to provide remote therapy for adults, couples, or teens. The role emphasizes direct client care while BetterHelp manages administrative, insurance, and payment processes. Candidates need at least three years of counseling experience, a qualifying graduate degree, an unrestricted independent license, professional liability insurance, and a private telehealth environment. This is a highly flexible, fully remote practice opportunity for providers currently residing in the United States.

I begin by setting clear expectations around privacy, technology, communication, and treatment goals. I use active listening, regular check-ins, and collaborative goal setting to build trust, while adapting interventions to the client's comfort level and responsiveness in a virtual environment.
I complete a thorough intake that considers presenting concerns, clinical history, strengths, risk factors, and the client's goals. I then develop an evidence-based, measurable treatment plan collaboratively and revisit it regularly to ensure interventions remain effective and relevant.
I would conduct an immediate risk assessment, follow applicable ethical and legal requirements, and use the client's verified location and emergency contact information when necessary. I would collaboratively develop a safety plan when appropriate and coordinate emergency resources or a higher level of care if imminent risk is present.
I maintain an active independent license, follow jurisdictional telehealth requirements, protect client confidentiality, document accurately, and maintain professional liability coverage. I also use secure communication practices and seek consultation when a case falls outside my competence or requires additional support.
I use structured scheduling, appropriate caseload limits, timely documentation, and regular boundaries around availability. I monitor my workload and clinical capacity, use consultation and continuing education, and make adjustments to preserve consistent, high-quality care for every client.

We’re Looking For
- LCSW, LPC, LMFT, LMHC, Licensed Professional Counselor, or Psychologist / PsyD
- Experienced Mental Health Therapist or Counselor with a passion for helping adults, couples, or teens.
Requirements:
- 3+ years of mental health counseling experience
- Master’s or Doctorate in Counseling, Psychology, Social Work, or Marriage & Family Therapy
- Fully independent license (LCSW, LPC, LMFT, LMHC, etc.) and can provide therapy without supervision.
- A private and professional environment for conducting sessions.
- Excellent written communication.
- Must have professional liability insurance.
- Reliable Internet connection.
- Currently residing in the US.
