Sample interview questions
I begin with the CEO's highest-priority objectives, decision-making needs, and non-negotiable commitments. I assess each request for strategic impact, urgency, preparation requirements, and whether it can be delegated or handled asynchronously, then communicate clear alternatives when a meeting is not the best use of executive time.
I would create a concise briefing that covers the meeting objective, attendee backgrounds, relevant company context, decisions needed, risks, key metrics, and recommended talking points. I would confirm materials and logistics in advance, identify open questions with owners, and capture decisions and action items immediately after the meeting.
I establish clear triage rules for urgent, sensitive, delegable, and informational messages, while learning the executive's communication style and decision preferences. I draft concise responses for approval or send authorized replies, elevate only issues requiring executive judgment, and handle confidential items through secure and discreet processes.
I stay calm, identify the critical constraint, and quickly develop practical backup options such as alternate travel routes, virtual participation, delegate coverage, or revised meeting times. I keep affected stakeholders informed with concise updates and document the final plan so that no follow-up or dependency is missed.
I would use a lightweight, visible action tracker with clear owners, deadlines, status, and decision context, supported by tools such as Notion, Slack, and Google Workspace. I would send structured pre-reads and post-meeting recaps, create timely reminders, and escalate blockers early while avoiding unnecessary synchronous meetings.
