Sample interview questions
How would you evaluate whether a user-acquisition campaign is truly profitable?

I would assess performance across the full funnel, starting with spend, installs, CPI, CTR, and conversion rate, then connecting acquired users to subscription conversion, retention, LTV, and ROAS. I would use consistent attribution windows and compare results against channel-specific benchmarks and marginal-return expectations.

Describe how you would structure a creative-testing program for paid social campaigns.

I would form a clear hypothesis, isolate a small number of variables such as hook, format, audience, or value proposition, and ensure enough budget and time for meaningful results. I would document outcomes in a creative repository, scale validated winners, and use insights to define the next testing cycle.

What actions would you take if spend increased but subscriber ROAS declined?

I would segment the decline by channel, campaign, audience, geography, creative, placement, and cohort to identify the source. Depending on the findings, I would reduce inefficient spend, refresh fatigued creative, adjust targeting or bidding, validate attribution, and reallocate budget toward segments with stronger incremental returns.

How do you balance rapid campaign execution with analytical rigor?

I use a prioritization framework based on expected impact, confidence, effort, and urgency. I move quickly on reversible optimizations while preserving clean experiment design for strategic decisions, and I communicate assumptions, results, and next steps clearly to stakeholders.

How have you used attribution data to improve media-buying decisions?

I compare platform-reported results with mobile measurement partner and internal cohort data to understand discrepancies and downstream quality. This allows me to optimize toward metrics that better reflect durable subscriber value rather than relying solely on last-click or short-window platform outcomes.
