Sample interview questions
I would begin by segmenting target accounts by AI adoption maturity, sensitive-data exposure, regulatory pressure, and existing security architecture. I would map CISOs, security architects, AI leaders, and business sponsors, then use tailored outreach tied to concrete AI-security risks and outcomes. I would maintain a disciplined cadence across calls, email, events, partners, and referrals, while qualifying early using MEDDIC.
I frame the discussion around business enablement rather than product features: helping the organization adopt AI faster while protecting data, reducing cyber risk, and meeting governance obligations. I quantify the impact of risks such as data leakage, unmanaged AI use, and inconsistent controls, then connect the solution to measurable outcomes such as visibility, policy enforcement, and lower operational risk.
I use MEDDIC to establish measurable business impact, identify the economic buyer, document decision criteria and process, understand the customer’s pain, locate an internal champion, and assess competitive position. This creates a mutual action plan based on verified customer facts rather than optimism and helps prioritize deals with a credible path to close.
I would align with the Sales Engineer before discovery on stakeholder roles, business hypotheses, technical validation goals, and next steps. During the process, I would lead the commercial and strategic conversation while enabling the Sales Engineer to validate architecture, integrations, and security capabilities. Afterwards, we would jointly document gaps, risks, success criteria, and the action plan for the customer.
I would acknowledge their existing investment and explore how those controls perform specifically for AI adoption, cloud access, data protection, and evolving threats. Through targeted discovery, I would identify whether there are gaps in visibility, policy consistency, user experience, or operational complexity. I would then position Zscaler only where it can produce a differentiated, measurable outcome rather than forcing a generic replacement conversation.
