Sample interview questions
I start with discovery to understand the buyer's operational goals, current process, data maturity, and measurable pain points. I then connect the capability to a specific outcome, such as faster decision-making, improved technician utilization, or stronger revenue visibility, using plain language and relevant examples. I validate the proposed value with the buyer and tailor the demonstration to their priorities.
I would align with the Account Executive on account strategy, stakeholder roles, success criteria, risks, and next steps before customer meetings. During the pursuit, I would lead technical discovery, deliver tailored demonstrations, address integration and security questions, and document requirements. I would also provide concise technical follow-up materials that reinforce the business case and keep the deal moving forward.
I would first clarify the specific concern, such as data access, retention, model usage, permissions, or compliance obligations. I would provide accurate, approved information about the product's security controls and data-handling practices, avoiding unsupported commitments. If specialized expertise is needed, I would coordinate with security, legal, or product teams and ensure the prospect receives a clear, timely response.
An effective playbook identifies the target customer profile, core problems solved, differentiated messaging, discovery questions, proof points, objection responses, and demonstration guidance. It should also define when to position the feature and include examples of successful use cases. I would review performance with sales and product teams regularly and refine the playbook based on field feedback.
In a discovery meeting, I focus first on the customer's workflow, desired outcomes, and constraints rather than starting with product features. I reflect their priorities back in clear language, ask focused follow-up questions, and explain technical concepts at the audience's level. This approach builds trust because the customer sees that I understand both their business problem and the practical path to solving it.
