Sample interview questions
How would you diagnose an issue where marketing-qualified leads are not reaching Salesforce reliably?

I would first map the expected lifecycle from HubSpot qualification through workflow enrollment, property updates, sync rules, and Salesforce assignment. I would review workflow history, sync error logs, required-field mappings, duplicate rules, and recent configuration changes, then test the corrected path with controlled records and document the root cause and prevention steps.

Describe how you would design a predictive lead-scoring approach for a marketing team.

I would begin with a clear conversion outcome, such as sales acceptance or opportunity creation, and validate historical data quality. I would combine fit attributes, engagement signals, recency, and negative signals, calibrate thresholds with sales, and monitor conversion performance regularly so the model can be refined as campaigns and buyer behavior change.

What practices would you use to maintain strong data governance in HubSpot?

I would establish clear property definitions, ownership, validation rules, access controls, retention practices, and a documented change-management process. I would also schedule data-quality reviews for duplicates, incomplete records, source consistency, consent status, and synchronization exceptions, with accountable owners for remediation.

Give an example of an AI-enabled marketing-operations use case you would evaluate.

I would evaluate an AI-assisted workflow that classifies inbound form submissions or conversational intent, enriches the record using approved data sources, recommends a routing path, and flags low-confidence cases for review. I would measure accuracy, routing speed, conversion impact, privacy compliance, and operational effort before scaling it.

How do you prioritize competing requests from marketing, sales, and data stakeholders?

I assess each request against business impact, urgency, risk, effort, dependencies, and alignment with agreed operational goals. I make priorities visible in a shared backlog, communicate trade-offs early, address production issues quickly, and reserve capacity for proactive improvements that reduce recurring manual work or errors.
