Core skills

Skills and capabilities most closely associated with this opportunity.

Sample interview questions
How do you structure an optimization plan for an underperforming paid-media campaign?

I first validate tracking, attribution, and data quality, then review performance by channel, audience, creative, placement, device, and funnel stage. I prioritize the largest performance gaps, form testable hypotheses, and execute controlled changes to bids, budgets, targeting, or creative. I monitor results against agreed KPIs and communicate both the actions and expected impact to stakeholders.

Describe how you would allocate budget across Google Ads, Meta, TikTok, and programmatic channels.

I would start with the campaign objective, audience behavior, historical performance, marginal return, and each channel’s role in the funnel. I would reserve sufficient budget for learning while prioritizing channels with scalable, efficient results. Budget reallocations would be based on statistically meaningful performance trends and communicated with clear rationale and forecasted outcomes.

What metrics would you include in a client-facing performance report?

I would include spend, delivery, reach or impressions, clicks, CTR, CPC, conversions, conversion rate, CPA, and ROAS or revenue where available. I would also compare results with targets and prior periods, explain key drivers, highlight learnings, and recommend specific next actions. The report should connect media metrics to the client’s business objective rather than simply listing platform data.

How do you manage competing deadlines and requests from multiple stakeholders?

I assess urgency, business impact, dependencies, and effort, then organize work in a visible priority plan such as Asana. I align timelines and ownership early, escalate risks before deadlines are affected, and delegate or redistribute tasks when appropriate. Regular updates help maintain realistic expectations and prevent surprises.

Give an example of how you would communicate a difficult campaign result to a client.

I would present the result transparently, explain the relevant data and contributing factors, and avoid unsupported conclusions. I would distinguish between what is known and what needs further testing, then provide a recovery plan with prioritized actions, timing, and success measures. This keeps the discussion constructive and demonstrates accountability for improving performance.
