Key Skills

Business Development Strategic Partnerships Player Engagement Video Games Negotiation Go-to-Market Strategy CRM Executive Engagement RFI/RFP Response Revenue Growth

Dear Hiring Team,

I am writing to express my interest in the Enterprise Specialized Services BDM position at Keywords Studios. With over 8 years of business development experience in the video game industry, I have a proven track record of driving strategic partnerships and revenue growth. My expertise includes leading complex deals over $10M and engaging with C-level executives at major game publishers. I am particularly drawn to Keywords' focus on player engagement services and the opportunity to contribute to a global platform. I am confident that my skills in negotiation, go-to-market strategy, and relationship building will make me a valuable asset to your team. Thank you for considering my application.

Sincerely, [Your Name]

Describe a complex deal over $10M you negotiated. What was your approach and the outcome?
I led a partnership with a major publisher for a multi-year services contract. I focused on aligning our value proposition with their strategic goals, built consensus across internal teams, and used data to justify pricing. The deal closed successfully, resulting in a 15% revenue increase for our division.
How do you develop and execute a go-to-market strategy for a new service offering?
I start with market research to identify target segments and pain points. Then I define the value proposition, create sales collateral, and align with marketing on campaigns. I set KPIs and iterate based on feedback. For Player Engagement Services, I would leverage our existing client relationships and industry events to drive adoption.
Can you give an example of how you used data to navigate ambiguity in a business development scenario?
In a previous role, we had limited data on a new market. I conducted competitor analysis, surveyed potential clients, and built a financial model to estimate ROI. This allowed me to present a compelling case to leadership and secure investment for the initiative.
How do you build and maintain relationships with C-level executives at game publishers?
I focus on understanding their business challenges and providing tailored solutions. I maintain regular touchpoints, share industry insights, and deliver on commitments. I also leverage my network to facilitate introductions and position myself as a trusted advisor.
Describe a time you managed a cross-functional team to achieve a business development goal.
I led a cross-team effort to respond to a large RFP. I coordinated with product, legal, and finance to ensure alignment. We held daily stand-ups and used a shared tracker. The proposal was submitted on time and won, generating $5M in annual revenue.

You’ll work across Keywords Divisions (Create, Globalize, Engage) to develop and execute “One Keywords” opportunities, driving adoption of Player Engagement services and fostering strong relationships with key stakeholders.

You’ll join a global team and be responsible for leading strategic deals, go-to-market planning, negotiations, and responding to customer RFIs/RFPs — using a combination of data and real-world insights to navigate ambiguity and deliver outcomes that benefit both our clients and Keywords. You’ll also leverage your industry network to create new opportunities and represent Keywords at conferences and public forums.

If you’re passionate about player engagement, enterprise business development, and delivering commercial outcomes, this is a role where you can make a real impact.

What are we looking for? Our Specialist has a knack for the following skills:

Business Development & Strategy

  • Identify, build, and execute strategic deals and partnerships to accelerate Player Engagement Services adoption and revenue growth.
  • Represent the Player Engagement team as the primary point of contact for cross-Keywords business opportunities.
  • Lead commercial and business discussions & negotiations representing Player Engagement Services.
  • Develop and execute GTM strategies to drive adoption of new product features.
  • Receive & respond to customer RFIs/RFPs.
  • Use existing networks and expand within the games industry to open doors and create net new opportunities for Keywords, with a focus on introducing Player Engagement Services and expanding to other Keywords divisions.
  • Represent Keywords in public forums, including conferences and speaking opportunities.

Analytics

  • Regular CRM hygiene and reporting on weekly, monthly, and quarterly business reviews, including cross-KWS opportunity pipeline and progress.

Communication

  • Work closely with internal teams to drive alignment on business objectives and client initiatives.
  • Present proposals, negotiate deals, and communicate complex commercial opportunities effectively.
  • Promote a culture of accountability, collaboration, and customer obsession.

You’d be a great fit for this role if you have:

  • 7–10 years of business development experience in or around the video game industry.
  • Experience engaging with game publishers at executive levels (CxO, SVP, VP).
  • Experience negotiating and executing complex deals in excess of $10M.
  • Strong critical thinking, commercial creativity, and process-driven execution.
  • Data-driven mentality and ability to work through ambiguity.
  • High attention to detail and ability to perform under pressure and deadlines.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Self-motivated and able to thrive in a remote working environment.
  • Willingness to travel as required.
