Key Skills

Business Development Healthcare Sales Strategic Partnerships Consultative Selling Negotiation Executive Communication Data Analysis Mental Health Account Management Cross-functional Collaboration

I am excited to apply for the Health Systems Business Development Manager position at Lyra Health. With over 5 years of experience in healthcare sales and business development, I have a proven track record of building strategic partnerships and exceeding quotas. My background includes negotiating contracts with health systems and payers, and I am passionate about expanding access to mental health care.

I am particularly drawn to Lyra's evidence-based approach and its impact on clinical outcomes. My skills in consultative selling, executive communication, and data-driven analysis align well with the core competencies required for this role. I am comfortable working in a fast-paced, remote environment and am eager to contribute to Lyra's mission.

Thank you for considering my application. I look forward to the opportunity to discuss how my experience can drive growth for Lyra Health.

Can you describe a time when you successfully negotiated a complex contract with a health system or payer? What strategies did you use?
In my previous role, I negotiated a partnership with a large health system by focusing on mutual value. I prepared data-driven case studies showing cost savings and improved patient outcomes. I built relationships with key stakeholders, including the medical director and CFO, and addressed their concerns about integration. The result was a multi-year contract that increased our referral volume by 30%.
How do you prospect and prioritize new business opportunities in a competitive market?
I use a combination of market research, networking, and CRM data to identify high-potential health systems. I prioritize based on factors like size, strategic fit, and decision-maker accessibility. I then tailor my outreach with personalized value propositions, often leveraging insights from existing clients or industry trends.
Describe a time you had to influence a senior executive who was initially resistant to your proposal. How did you handle it?
I once worked with a hospital CEO who was skeptical about mental health benefits. I listened to his concerns about cost and ROI. I then presented peer-reviewed studies showing a 26% reduction in overall claims costs. I also arranged a meeting with a current client who shared their positive experience. This shifted his perspective, and he eventually became a champion for the partnership.
How do you stay informed about changes in the US healthcare and mental health landscape?
I regularly read industry publications like Modern Healthcare and attend webinars from organizations like the National Council for Mental Wellbeing. I also participate in professional networks and follow key opinion leaders on LinkedIn. This helps me anticipate trends and adjust my sales strategy accordingly.
This role requires 40% travel. How do you manage your time and maintain productivity while on the road?
I plan my travel in blocks to minimize disruption. I use tools like calendar blocking and prioritize tasks based on urgency. I also leverage technology for virtual meetings when possible. I ensure I have dedicated focus time for follow-ups and documentation, even while traveling.
