Cover letter sample
I am writing to express my strong interest in the Executive Assistant to the CEO position at Supabase. With over five years of experience supporting C-level executives in high-growth startups, I have developed a proven ability to manage complex calendars, prioritize competing demands, and maintain discretion with sensitive information. My proficiency with tools like Notion, Slack, and Google Workspace allows me to streamline workflows and enhance productivity in remote-first environments.
I am particularly drawn to Supabase's mission of empowering developers with a complete backend platform. My background includes coordinating international travel, preparing board materials, and acting as a trusted gatekeeper for executive communications. I thrive in fast-paced, async environments and am adept at anticipating needs before they escalate.
I am confident that my organizational skills and proactive mindset would make me a valuable asset to your CEO and leadership team. I look forward to the opportunity to contribute to Supabase's continued growth and global expansion.
Sample interview questions
In my previous role, I supported a founder-CEO at a 50-person startup. I managed a dynamic calendar with multiple time zones, prioritized meetings based on strategic importance, and prepared briefing documents. I also implemented a system for categorizing requests to ensure the CEO's focus on high-impact tasks.
I treat all information with the utmost discretion and only share on a need-to-know basis. I use secure communication channels, avoid discussing confidential matters in public spaces, and follow company policies for data protection. I also sign NDAs when required.
Once, a CEO's flight was canceled hours before an important investor meeting. I quickly rebooked a flight, arranged a video call alternative, and rescheduled the meeting for the next day. I also updated all stakeholders and prepared a revised agenda to minimize disruption.
I assess urgency and impact, consulting with the CEO if needed. I use a triage system: critical items that require immediate action, important items for the day, and low-priority items for later. I also communicate timelines to stakeholders to manage expectations.
I rely on Google Calendar for scheduling, Notion for project tracking and note-taking, Slack for communication, and Trello for task management. I also use AI tools for drafting emails and summarizing meetings. I maintain a daily checklist and end-of-day review to ensure nothing falls through the cracks.
