I am excited to apply for the Communications and Change Lead position within the Global Trade Services organization at TE Connectivity. With over eight years of experience in strategic communications and change management, I have successfully driven adoption of enterprise initiatives by developing clear messaging and engaging stakeholders across diverse teams.

In my previous role, I led communication strategies for global projects, including town halls, leadership messaging, and training rollouts. I excel at translating complex topics into accessible content and measuring effectiveness to continuously improve. My ability to build strong relationships and align stakeholders with organizational goals aligns perfectly with the requirements of this role.

I am particularly drawn to TE’s commitment to creating a safer, sustainable world. I am eager to contribute to the GTS team by ensuring that communications and change efforts support the organization’s priorities. Thank you for considering my application.

Can you describe a time when you led a change management initiative that faced resistance? How did you address it?
In a previous role, I led the adoption of a new project management tool. Resistance came from teams comfortable with existing processes. I conducted stakeholder interviews to understand concerns, developed targeted communications highlighting benefits, and created a feedback loop to address issues. I also partnered with champions to demonstrate early wins, which increased adoption by 40% within three months.
How do you approach developing a communication strategy for a complex, multi-stakeholder project?
I start by identifying key stakeholders and their needs through interviews and surveys. Then I segment audiences, define clear objectives, and select appropriate channels. I create a timeline for key messages, ensuring alignment with project milestones. Regular feedback and measurement allow me to refine the strategy as needed. For example, I used this approach for a global compliance rollout, achieving a 90% awareness rate.
Describe your experience with measuring communication effectiveness. What metrics do you use?
I use both quantitative and qualitative metrics. Quantitatively, I track open rates, click-through rates, and survey response rates. Qualitatively, I gather feedback through focus groups and sentiment analysis. In a recent campaign, I used these metrics to identify that a newsletter format was underperforming, leading to a redesign that improved engagement by 25%.
How do you ensure consistency in messaging across different communication channels and global audiences?
I develop a core message framework that aligns with organizational goals, then tailor it for each audience and channel. I create templates and style guides to maintain consistency. For global audiences, I consider cultural nuances and work with local liaisons to adapt messaging. Regular reviews and collaboration with cross-functional teams help ensure alignment.
Tell us about a time you had to support a leadership team in delivering a difficult message. How did you prepare them?
During a restructuring, I worked with the VP to craft a message that balanced transparency and empathy. I provided talking points, anticipated tough questions, and conducted mock sessions. The VP felt confident and the message was well-received, with employees appreciating the honest communication. This approach minimized rumors and maintained trust.

At TE, you will unleash your potential working with people from diverse backgrounds and industries to create a safer, sustainable and more connected world.
