Cover letter sample
Dear Hiring Team,
I am excited to apply for the Senior Brand Content Manager role at Demandbase. My background in B2B technology content and brand strategy has equipped me to translate complex products into clear, differentiated narratives that build credibility and drive engagement.
I would bring a strategic and hands-on approach to executive thought leadership, campaign storytelling, and high-quality content across long-form, social, video, and sales channels. I am especially drawn to the opportunity to help establish Demandbase as the defining voice in the AI GTM category while partnering closely with product marketing, creative, and demand generation teams.
I would welcome the opportunity to discuss how my editorial leadership, collaborative working style, and data-informed content strategy can help Demandbase strengthen its brand and accelerate growth.
Sample interview questions
I would begin with customer, market, competitor, and internal stakeholder research to identify the strongest proof points and unmet audience needs. I would then establish a concise positioning framework that connects the product's technical differentiation to a clear business outcome, supported by message pillars, evidence, and audience-specific adaptations. Finally, I would operationalize the narrative through a messaging architecture, editorial standards, and flagship content that demonstrate the point of view consistently.
I would prepare by researching the executive's perspective, relevant market developments, and the intended audience. During an interview, I would draw out specific opinions, experiences, and examples rather than generic commentary, then shape the material into an authentic voice while validating factual claims. I would also build a repeatable editorial cadence so thought leadership supports major company narratives and campaign priorities.
I use a combination of leading and downstream indicators, including engagement quality, content consumption, branded search, audience growth, influenced pipeline, and conversion paths. Measurement should be aligned to the content's purpose; for example, a category report may prioritize reach and executive engagement, while a campaign asset should be tied more directly to qualified demand and pipeline influence. I review results with demand generation and sales partners and use the findings to refine topics, formats, distribution, and calls to action.
I would create a transparent prioritization process based on strategic narrative importance, revenue impact, audience need, effort, and timing. A shared editorial calendar and intake process would make priorities, owners, and dependencies visible, while protecting capacity for proactive flagship work. When conflicts arise, I would communicate trade-offs early and propose alternatives such as repurposing an existing asset or adjusting delivery scope.
I first identify the audience's existing knowledge, the real problem they are trying to solve, and the minimum technical detail needed to build trust. I use plain language, concrete examples, customer outcomes, and a clear narrative structure, while collaborating with subject-matter experts to preserve accuracy. The goal is not to remove complexity entirely, but to make it relevant, credible, and easy to act on.

About the Role:
We are searching for a strategic, narrative-driven Senior Brand Content Manager to elevate Demandbase’s voice in the market. In this role, you won’t just write; you will define the stories that make Demandbase the most trusted and unique voice in the AI GTM category. You are a master of simplifying complex technical concepts into bold, category-defining narratives.
You will sit at the intersection of brand strategy and content execution, ensuring that every asset we ship—from long-form hero pieces to social-first video content—is a cohesive expression of our core brand identity. This role is essential to moving Demandbase from a preferred “B2B” solution provider to the “’AI GMT category leader,” partnering closely with Product Marketing, Campaigns, PR, Social, and Creative to turn our vision into the market-leading narrative that drives engagement, pipeline, and growth.
What you’ll be doing:
Defining Brand & Portfolio Narratives: Lead the development and evolution of Demandbase’s overarching brand story and specific product portfolio narratives. Ensure our messaging is differentiated, consistent, and emotionally resonant.
Thought Leadership Engine: Architect and execute a high-impact thought leadership content strategy. Collaborate with executives and internal experts to turn their insights into authoritative content that shapes category conversations.
Campaign Asset Creation: Direct and create high-quality, high-velocity assets for global campaigns. This includes everything from long-form research reports and white papers to short-form social copy, video scripts, and ad assets.
Brand Video & Visual Content: Champion our video strategy. Lead the development of brand videos, customer testimonial pieces, and educational content that humanizes our AI and makes our technology accessible.
Omnichannel Content Management: Oversee brand content for all channel types (web, social, email, events, sales enablement). Ensure all content aligns with our visual and verbal identity standards while being optimized for its specific medium.
Collaborating for Impact: Work closely with the creative studio to ensure design and copy are locked in synergy. Partner with PMM and Demand Gen teams to ensure content supports specific pipeline and revenue goals.
Operational Excellence: Establish editorial calendars, style guides, and feedback loops that ensure quality and speed. You will move the team from a reactive, request-driven model to a proactive, narrative-led content engine.
What we’re looking for:
8+ years of experience in brand marketing, content strategy, or creative copywriting, preferably in B2B or enterprise SaaS.
Proven ability to craft differentiated, category-defining narratives. You know how to make complex tech sound simple and compelling.
Strong background in developing content across diverse formats: long-form (ebooks, reports) and short-form (social, video scripts, ad copy).
Experience leading executive thought leadership programs—you know how to interview leaders and ghostwrite with a distinct, authoritative voice.
Data-driven mindset: You understand how content directly influences pipeline and can use data to refine your narrative strategy.
Exceptional project management skills: You can juggle multiple high-priority campaigns without losing focus on quality or brand integrity.
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment: You are a self-starter who moves fast, embraces change, and loves to experiment with new formats.
Collaborative spirit: You are comfortable working with stakeholders across the organization, from product managers to C-suite executives.
Bonuses:
Experience in the marketing and sales technology industry.
Experience working with AI tools to enhance content ideation and production workflows.
A strong portfolio demonstrating bold, narrative-led brand campaigns.
Experience in video production or directing creative assets.
