Sample interview questions
I establish clear observation schedules, use structured fidelity checklists, review clinical data routinely, and provide timely, behavior-specific feedback. I also create reliable communication routines so technicians can raise concerns quickly and receive practical guidance between formal supervision sessions.
I begin with a thorough assessment of the learner's strengths, preferences, communication needs, environmental variables, and behavior function. I then build proactive, skill-based interventions that prioritize choice, assent, reinforcement, and measurable outcomes, revising the plan based on ongoing data and family input.
I would first listen to identify barriers such as time, understanding, materials, or competing household demands. Then I would model the strategy, simplify it into manageable steps, use teach-back or role-play to confirm confidence, and agree on a realistic plan for practice and follow-up.
I review baseline and ongoing measures such as frequency, duration, intensity, latency, replacement-skill acquisition, treatment fidelity, and generalization. I also consider contextual information from caregivers and technicians to ensure that numerical trends reflect meaningful clinical outcomes.
I prioritize risk, medical necessity, and learner progress; maintain organized documentation and supervision systems; and use data to focus attention where it has the greatest clinical impact. I communicate early when caseload demands could affect service quality and collaborate with operational and clinical leaders on solutions.
