About this role.
BetterHelp is seeking a qualified Psychosociaal Therapeut or counselor to provide remote teletherapy to adults in the Netherlands through its online platform. The independent contractor will exercise clinical judgment, maintain a confidential treatment environment, and deliver therapy using a reliable internet connection. Candidates must be qualified to practice as a WO psychologist, integrative counselor, psychosocial counselor, or psychosocial therapist and have at least three years of adult counseling experience. BetterHelp handles client acquisition, billing, and administrative support, allowing the clinician to focus on client care and selected specialty populations.

I begin by explaining confidentiality, the session structure, and the limits of remote care in clear language. I use active listening, open questions, and a nonjudgmental approach to understand the client’s goals, while checking that they feel comfortable with the online setting.
I conduct sessions from a private, quiet space, use secure approved technology, protect my devices and accounts, and discuss privacy expectations with clients at the outset. I also follow applicable professional, ethical, and data-protection requirements when documenting and communicating about care.
I assess presenting concerns, risk factors, the client’s privacy and technology access, and whether teletherapy can safely meet their needs. If the client needs a higher level of care, crisis intervention, or specialized local support, I explain the rationale and facilitate an appropriate referral.
I use the platform’s tools for scheduling and communication while retaining responsibility for assessment, treatment planning, modality selection, documentation, and referrals. I make clinical decisions according to my professional competence, ethical obligations, and each client’s needs.
I would promptly conduct a focused risk assessment, confirm the client’s current location and available emergency contacts where appropriate, and follow established crisis and escalation procedures. I would remain calm, communicate clearly, document the actions taken, and connect the client with emergency or local crisis resources when necessary.

Vereisten:
- Is gekwalificeerd om te praktiseren als WO-psycholoog, Integratief Counselor, Psychosociaal Counselor of Psychosociaal Therapeut.
- Heeft minimaal 3 jaar ervaring in het begeleiden van volwassenen.
- Is in staat om een vertrouwelijke en rustige omgeving te waarborgen voor het uitvoeren van therapiesessies.
- Moet een achtergrondcontrole doorstaan.
- Heeft een betrouwbare internetverbinding voor teletherapie.
