About this role.
BetterHelp is seeking qualified Dutch psychosocial counselors or therapists to provide remote teletherapy to adults through its online platform. The contractor will retain clinical autonomy while BetterHelp handles client acquisition, billing, and administrative support. Candidates must be qualified to practice as a WO-psychologist, integrative counselor, psychosocial counselor, or psychosocial therapist, with at least three years of adult counseling experience. The role requires a confidential setting, reliable internet, successful background screening, and the ability to deliver independent, ethical online care. This is an independent-contractor engagement rather than an employee position.

I begin by setting clear expectations about confidentiality, technology, communication boundaries, and the therapeutic process. I use active listening, consistent follow-up, and collaborative goal-setting to create a safe and dependable client experience.
I complete an initial clinical assessment that considers presenting concerns, risk factors, privacy, technological access, and the client’s ability to engage remotely. When online care is not suitable or risk is elevated, I follow safeguarding procedures and support referral to appropriate local or emergency services.
I conduct sessions from a private, secure environment, use approved technology, verify client privacy when needed, and maintain documentation according to professional and legal requirements. I also explain the limits of confidentiality and emergency procedures at the outset of care.
I use platform processes for scheduling and communication while retaining responsibility for assessment, treatment planning, and clinical decisions within my scope of practice. I document my rationale carefully and consult or refer when a client’s needs exceed my expertise.
I would review the client’s goals, alliance, engagement barriers, and the effectiveness of the current approach with them openly. Together, we would adjust the treatment plan, introduce suitable evidence-informed interventions, or discuss referral if another level of care or specialization would better serve the client.

Vereisten:
- Is gekwalificeerd om te praktiseren als WO-psycholoog, Integratief Counselor, Psychosociaal Counselor of Psychosociaal Therapeut.
- Heeft minimaal 3 jaar ervaring in het begeleiden van volwassenen.
- Is in staat om een vertrouwelijke en rustige omgeving te waarborgen voor het uitvoeren van therapiesessies.
- Moet een achtergrondcontrole doorstaan.
- Heeft een betrouwbare internetverbinding voor teletherapie.
