About this role.
Enode is hiring a senior individual-contributor Partnerships Manager to develop and expand strategic OEM relationships across EV, charging, solar, storage, and other smart-energy hardware. The role owns the full partnership lifecycle, including sourcing, negotiation, closing, retention, expansion, and cross-functional delivery of partner commitments. Success requires commercial judgment alongside the ability to navigate technical, legal, and product discussions around API-based B2B software integrations. This is a remote-first European startup role with substantial autonomy, direct exposure to executive leadership, and an expectation to use AI to improve partnership workflows. Candidates need at least five years of partnerships or business-development experience, ideally in B2B software, energy, consulting, or another demanding commercial environment.

Sample interview questions
I would outline the target-account rationale, stakeholder map, discovery process, value proposition, negotiation strategy, internal alignment, and measurable commercial or strategic outcome. I would also explain how I maintained momentum through legal, technical, and executive approvals.
I would establish a joint success plan with adoption, product-quality, revenue, and customer-impact metrics. Regular executive and operating reviews would surface expansion opportunities, integration improvements, and shared go-to-market actions before issues affect the relationship.
I clarify the non-negotiables and underlying interests for each group, translate trade-offs into business impact, and create a decision path with accountable owners. I keep a written issue log, propose practical options, and escalate only when a decision truly requires senior sponsorship.
I would describe using AI to accelerate account research, summarize calls, identify open actions, draft partner briefs, or standardize deal reviews, while validating outputs and protecting confidential information. The goal is to codify the useful workflow so the broader team benefits rather than creating an individual shortcut.
I would first learn the partner portfolio, product capabilities, integration process, and current pipeline; then prioritize partner health and highest-potential prospects with the Head of Partnerships. By the end of the period, I would aim to own a clear set of opportunities, deliver partner-account plans, and recommend improvements to the partnership playbook and operating cadence.
About Enode
The grid was built for predictable, centralised power. Today it’s absorbing intermittent supply from grid scale solar and wind, alongside dynamic demand from EVs, heat pumps, and home batteries. The missing piece is software that can connect and orchestrate these devices at scale.
Enode provides the infrastructure layer that makes this possible. Our Connect API gives energy companies a single integration to 1000+ devices across 80+ brands. Our optimisation tooling gives energy companies the building blocks to manage those devices locally – think smart charging for EVs. Our Flex product turns those connected devices into a flexible, controllable asset for energy companies.
We work with device manufacturers across the energy hardware ecosystem – from EV brands to heat pump and solar inverter producers. Our customers are energy retailers, utilities, and traders building the next generation of energy services. We’re backed by Y Combinator, Lowercarbon Capital, and Creandum.
The decisions made now will shape how the energy system gets built. We’re looking for people who take ownership, move fast, and care deeply about the role technology can play in the energy transition.
AI is fundamental to how we work
AI is how a team our size keeps rewiring the way we work, fast enough to match what our mission demands. We look for people who reach for AI as a reflex and who can drop a habit that used to work. People who care about unblocking others, not just about what they ship themselves. If that’s not quite how you work yet but it’s the direction you’re heading, we’d still like to hear from you. We assess this in our interview process, alongside everything else we look at.
What we’re looking for:
We’re hiring a Partnerships Manager to work closely with the manufacturers (OEMs) whose devices are optimised by Enode. OEM partners are a vital part of Enode’s platform, and how we work with them determines how fast we scale as a company. Enode is partnering with leading automotive, EV charger and solar & storage companies, e.g. VW Group, Zaptec and Solis. You’ll sign new partners, succeed with existing ones, improve our product, and shape the playbook we use to do it. This is a high-impact role for someone who thrives in early-stage ambiguity and problem solving.
You’ll be working directly with Henrik, Enode’s Head of Partnerships, and work closely with our CEO and leaders across GTM and Product. Partnerships is a small senior team of four people, and you will directly shape how we operate.
In this role, you will:
Source, negotiate, and close new OEM partnerships end-to-end, from first conversation to signed agreement
Grow and retain existing OEM partners, making sure they see real value from working with Enode
Identify and sell new products to OEMs, opening up new revenue streams
Develop and improve the partnerships playbook, including redesigning processes using AI
Build with AI as a normal part of how you work, from partner research through to scoping and recaps, and turn what you learn into tools, skills and processes the rest of the team picks up, so the leverage is shared rather than personal.
Represent Enode at industry events, conferences, and on panels
Collaborate closely with Product, Engineering, Sales, Customer Success, and Operations to deliver on partner commitments and improve our platform
This role will be right for you, if:
To thrive at Enode, you believe the energy transition is the defining infrastructure problem of the next decade. And you want to be the person who unblocks it commercially and technically, not the person who reads about it. You’re motivated by the opportunity of using millions of residential energy devices to stabilise the grid.
To succeed as Partnership Manager you are a person who easily builds trust and relationships with a range of stakeholders, from technical product managers to senior business leaders in large, multi-national companies like VW and BMW Group. You should be excited about the opportunity to identify and understand their needs, help the partner and Enode to realise value and high quality integrations. The role will be right if:
You have drive, ambition and passion to build a globally important climate tech business
You are a natural relationship builder and can work with broad range of stakeholders
You use AI day to day, you understand where it helps and where it falls short, and you think about your work in terms of what AI can take on. If you’re not fully there yet, you’re eager to get there fast.
You are an excellent problem solver and strategic thinker, with the ability to manage complex projects
You have strong negotiation and diplomatic skills
You are comfortable navigating technical, commercial, and legal conversations with a range of stakeholders
You are well-organised and independent
You have at least 5 years of experience in business development/partnerships, ideally in B2B software or energy. We are also open to backgrounds from other high-performing environments (e.g. top-tier consulting)
You are ready to get your hands dirty, ideally with startup or scale-up experience
You have excellent communication skills, written and oral (English)
You are based in Europe and able to work in the CET time zone +-3 hours
Nice-to-haves
You have closed and grown multi-year strategic partnerships with enterprise counterparts
You have experience with (or high interest in) renewable energy, electric vehicles, smart energy hardware and/or demand response
You actively use AI to improve the efficiency and quality of your work
You are familiar with API-based, B2B software
What we offer:
Opportunity to join and impact an early-stage climate tech startup with global aspirations as we scale.
A mission-driven, fun and caring environment with high drive and ambition.
Competitive compensation, including a very attractive employee option program – you’re part of our journey.
Access to best in class AI tooling, we think the ceiling on what a small team can do has fundamentally shifted, and we want you to feel that.
Real investment in your AI fluency. Dedicated time to build the skill, an internal skills library you can contribute to, and the tooling budget to work properly.
Remote-first in Europe, with the option of attending an office in Oslo or receiving a co-working pass on demand.
Three annual off-sites to connect with the team in exciting & fun places.
Flexible, human-first culture.
Stipend for setting up your home office.
