Sample interview questions
Describe an AI-driven automation you built that materially improved a marketing or revenue workflow.

I would outline the original manual process, the tools and data sources involved, and the workflow I built using an LLM/API and automation platform. I would quantify impact using metrics such as hours saved, lead-response time, qualification accuracy, conversion rate, or pipeline created, and explain the monitoring and human-review safeguards I used.

How would you improve conversion on a developer-focused product website such as Roboflow's?

I would first instrument the funnel and segment visitors by intent, source, and developer journey stage. I would identify the largest drop-offs, form hypotheses around messaging, documentation, product proof, and calls to action, then run prioritized experiments with clear success metrics. I would pair quantitative behavior data with user feedback to ensure changes provide immediate technical value rather than just superficial conversion lifts.

How do you connect marketing activity to pipeline and revenue when data lives across multiple systems?

I start by defining lifecycle stages, source-of-truth ownership, identity resolution rules, and required events. I then connect product, website, CRM, and campaign data through reliable integrations, validate data quality, and build reporting from first touch through closed-won. I also document attribution assumptions so stakeholders understand both what the data proves and its limitations.

Tell us about a growth experiment that failed and what you did next.

I would explain the hypothesis, audience, implementation, and pre-defined success threshold. If results failed to meet the threshold, I would share the evidence, identify whether the issue was positioning, channel fit, execution, or measurement, and either revise the highest-potential variable or stop the initiative quickly. The key is treating a negative result as useful information and reallocating effort decisively.

How would you design a lifecycle journey that converts a first-time user into an active advocate?

I would map activation milestones based on actions that correlate with retained usage, then use product events to trigger helpful, contextual email and in-app guidance. The journey would provide technical education, templates, examples, and prompts to reach the next successful outcome, followed by advocacy asks only after users demonstrate sustained value. I would continuously evaluate activation, retention, expansion, and referral metrics by cohort.

Who We Are

Our mission is to make the world programmable. Sight is one of the key ways we understand the world, and soon this will be true for the software we use, too.

We’re building the tools, community, and resources needed to make the world programmable with artificial intelligence. Roboflow simplifies building and using computer vision models. Today, over 1M+ developers, including those from half the Fortune 100, use Roboflow’s machine learning open source and hosted tools. That includes counting cells to accelerate cancer research, improving construction site safety, digitizing floor plans, preserving coral reef populations, guiding drone flight, and much more.

Roboflow is supported by great customers and investors, having raised over $63 million from Y Combinator, Google Ventures, Craft Ventures, Sam Altman, Lachy Groom, amongst other leading software investors.

Roboflowers are passionate builders who value ownership, accountability, and a bias toward action. We’re curious, hands-on with new tech, and prefer showing our work over talking about it. Many of us have a founder mindset and thrive in our high-autonomy environment.

What You’ll Do

You are building the machinery that powers our growth engine. You’ll be the intersection of engineering, marketing, and product, using AI to accelerate everything we do and building systems that scale our reach to the next 10 million developers. This is a high-impact, high-agency position to build a world-class growth function.

Responsibilities include:

  • Build AI Automations: Design and deploy AI-driven workflows to automate lead qualification, content distribution, and personalized outreach. You should be the person asking, “How can we use LLMs to do this 10x faster?”

  • Own the Website: Treat our website as a product. You’ll own the performance, experiments, and conversion paths, ensuring roboflow.com is a high-converting machine.

  • GTM Engineering: Build the connective tissue between our tools. Whether it’s connecting APIs, setting up webhooks, or building custom scrapers, you bridge the gap between marketing ideas and technical execution.

  • Lifecycle Marketing: Design the end-to-end user journey. You’ll use email flows, in-app triggers, and retention loops to turn a first-time user into a power user and advocate.

  • Analytics & Integration: You’ll ensure we have a clear view of our funnel from first touch to closed-won and find opportunities across all channels to increase leads, pipeline, and revenue. You have a track record of stitching together a Marketing stack and managing data pipelines.

  • Be a Generalist: On any given day, you might be building automations with Sales, working on a viral website for a product launch, or spinning up a new programmatic SEO strategy. You thrive on variety and aren’t afraid to dive into the unknown.

  • Ownership Mindset: end-to-end ownership of the infrastructure and the outcomes it produces

Who You Are

  • A Technical Generalist: You are technical enough to ship your ideas and can navigate a modern tech stack. You don’t wait for an engineer to build a tool for you; you build it yourself.

  • Automation Obsessed: You are an expert in the modern automation stack (Zapier, Clay, OpenAI API) and love finding ways to remove manual friction.

  • Data-Driven: You don’t just “feel” like a campaign worked; you prove it. You have deep experience with analytics tools (PostHog, Segment, Hex, etc.).

  • Growth Mindset: You understand that growth is a game of experiments. You ship quickly, measure, and iterate or kill projects based on how they perform.

  • Product-Minded: You understand developers and the B2B world. You know that marketing to this audience means being helpful, technical, and providing immediate value.
