I’m choosing between these two paths right now.

I’ve seen people romanticize both and skip the ugly part. Sports massage can turn into body-broken, low-margin work fast if you don’t protect your hands and pricing. Strength coaching looks sexier, but bad sales habits leave you chasing clients instead of training them.
Pick the one where the daily grind won’t wreck you. If you hate talking numbers, coaching gets messy. If repetitive manual work drains you, massage gets old hard. The trap is choosing by title, not by what breaks first - your body or your patience.
Path-wise, strength coach has more upside if you like programming, sales, and client results. Sports massage is usually steadier early on and easier to book out locally. Pick the grind you’d still do after 200 reps.
That crossroads is rough, beccause both sound practical until you picture the day-to-day. Sports massage felt more stable to me if you like cliient work and repeat bookings, while strength coaching had more upside but also more hustle, since 3 good clients can turn into 30 emails fast. I’d pick the one where you can tolerate 6 months of slow starts without hting yourself halfway through
